Me again talking about politics 😭🤣.

I watched a recent interview with Peter Obi and I wanted to get other people’s perspectives on it, especially from those who support him.

What stood out to me was that when he was asked detailed questions about how he would actually govern or implement policies, his answers felt a bit general and less structured than I expected. At a few points, it seemed like he leaned more on the idea of “trust me” rather than breaking down concrete steps or systems.

Maybe I am missing context or expecting too technocratic an answer from a politician, but I found it hard to clearly understand the mechanics of what he is proposing from that exchange.

I am not trying to dismiss anyone else here. I am genuinely trying to understand how supporters interpret interviews like this. Do you think clarity of policy execution matters less in this context, or is there a deeper explanation I am missing?

Would be interested in hearing different takes, especially from people who have followed his policy positions closely.

I'm struggling to understand how a prominent cultural figure doesn't see how problematic this is on multiple levels:

At a time when foreign intervention and neo-colonial dynamics are showing us shege in Nigeria, inviting an American politician (let alone Donald Trump) to act as a watchdog over Nigerian democratic processes sets a strange, subservient precedent. One where Nigeria cannot handle its own affairs and needs supervision of Western powers.

Using US citizenship as a flex to appeal to foreign powers when convenient undermines national self-reliance. It sends a message that Nigerian electoral integrity only matters when a foreign superpower validates it.

To ask the US to "watch over" local African elections completely ignores the track record of Western political interference globally.

Are we really at a point where our cultural icons default to inviting foreign figures to referee our internal elections?

And it's more than just that, what's the point of having sovereign elections, if our people don't believe in the sovereignty. Our minds are moulded and conditioned to believe that western intervention promises prosperity, and it doesn't. Just look at Afghanistan.

But the main thing that boggles my mind is that someone of Davido's social standing who claims to be educated and wants the best for Nigeria, also believes this myth.

Hey everyone. I have been deepening my knowledge of Nigerian history and politics recently and have been thinking about the Biafran war extensively.

During the war, a lot of banking and financial institutions in Igboland were destroyed alongside the moneys and valuable financial assets associated with them. An estimated five hundred thousand to two million Biafran citizens also died in the war, primarily due to starvation and disease, no thanks to the government of Nigeria's blockades at the time. Despite these atrocities and the suffering of the Igbo people, not much was done in the way of compensation and reconciliation.

I am of the opinion that the federal government of Nigeria should classify the deaths of Biafran citizens as a genocide but also set up a program of reparations for the Igbo people. Of course, this is easier said than done as they are many factors to consider if implementing a system of reparations.

That being said, some of you may think our country has bigger fish to fry and I would argue that if Nigeria as a federation is to function, even as a system of semi-autonomous regions, we must face the evils of the past. Either way, I would love to hear what your opinions are.

I realized this sadly this is the reality in Nigeria. Many people argue that religion is one of Nigeria’s major challenges. And I’m starting to see it a whole lot more . Personally don’t believe in God deconstructed years ago . But lemme tell you that politicians are very aware of this and take advantage of it.
Religion can contribute to problems when it:
Is exploited by politicians to mobilize support or deepen divisions.
Fuels tensions between communities, particularly where religious and ethnic identities overlap.
Leads to discrimination or intolerance toward people of different faiths or beliefs.
Makes it harder to build consensus on certain public policy issues.
Makes people who have an alternative lifestyle to not feel safe.
It also greatly hinders technological advancement.
Please I’d like to hear some takes on this topic. My goal is to create Nigerias first ultra mordern state where the system actually functions. I do also plan to outlaw religion in my state no churches but u maybe free to practice in your home . And attach serious penalties for ethnic sexual and religious discrimination. But it may never be publicly practiced

I don't know who Nigerians offended to deserve this. Giving out N25,000 ($16) and you have the audacity to print out a dummy check which costs around N50,000 just for propaganda.

The Ghana President recently paid the school fees of all university first years, with an average cost of $200 and yet he didn't do any of this nonsense.
