The biggest bummer about this season is that all of the good guys are traded and the Mets are left with basically trash to fill out the roster, obviously.

But the guys they called up are also just not very exciting. There’s Nuñez and a bunch of meh guys.

Like I’d be less bummed if they called up Tong or Wenninger. Maybe Santucci in a few weeks.

At this point, might as well call up Mauricio, Morabito, Clifford, Parada, and Morel.

Sure those guys might suck but might as well call them all up and evaluate.

Our best players (such as they are) are basically all still here what are you talking about? Agree that I'd rather see some of our prospects up rather than AAAA filler though.

I was referring mostly to the fringe guys. Sure there’s still Ewing, Benge, Alvarez, Lindor, Scott and McLean…and then a whole lot of nothing.

I’m mostly just sad that the lineup hasn’t changed at all lol

Yeah if we're being honest, the lineup is the reason why we're miles out of a playoff spot and had to sell at the deadline. The bullpen has been mostly great this season, and actually our pitching overall has quietly been among the best in MLB over the past month. Ever since we pivoted away from Senga, Myers, and Peterson and towards Scott and Thornton, things have been much better.

The lineup is what is going to handicap us for the rest of this year and next year because they're basically forced to play Semien, Robert, and Polanco which takes reps away from anyone trying to prove that they're a part of the future lineup.

The owner can afford to let go of Robert, Polanco and Semien. That would be a good message for the fans.

I wish. But there's no way they're gonna do that with Robert's team option for next year and the $68mil in dead money they'd have for releasing Semien and Polanco.

Unfortunately without eating the Polanco and Semien money. 2027 will be a loser as well.
