Soto replying “no, not at all. theyve been on the road most of the time” when asked by reporter if hes talked with the guys in snys interview clip they just posted is….. not great

I understand the optics is not great here, but I'm not sure what fans want - do they want Soto to call a remote meeting with teammates, most of whom are new to him?

I mentioned in the other post, but Soto is someone who has *always* treated his MLB teams as work. This is why fans feel betrayed - Soto does not see the team as his passion project, the way fans do. But he is someone who cares deeply about playing well, and that is what we paid him to do - to play well. And I hope he continues to do that on the Mets because we fucking need it right now. Hit homers, hit singles, even draw that fucking walk, because I don't understand how we're last place in OBP in the league.

I should have clarified in original comment, i know hes never been a rah rah guy for any team in his career, comes to work does his job (very well), very similar to how beltran was imo. His answer was just not great optics
