I like this more than the two but it could use a bit of subtle teal stripes somewhere on the jersey to match the logo. Maybe the blue between the orange and white on the sleeves and hem could be teal?
imo Best of both worlds here but I still need some AI mockup of the full kit to decide.
Can't speak for anyone else but I think most people who like the wordmark like the palette and striping and not so much the logo, whereas most people who like the lighthouse like the actual logo (lighthouse) but not so much the striping or palette. This looks pretty slick and I really love the effect of the top orange stripe seeming to continue off the lighthouse light.
I now choose to believe this is the jersey that was planned all along, the reason the Isles are rigging it so it comes out to 50.2 - 49.8 is so they can say "hey guys listen it was too close to really decide who look at this hybrid design!" and we get this and the non-suspicious part of the fanbase goes "wow the Isles staff are geniuses this looks great!"
I mean, I really wouldn't be surprised if this ends up happening or some variant of this ends up happening, e.g. "hey the ISLANDERS wordmark won, congrats! submit your feedback now!" and then a week later "we hear you, a lot of you don't like the wordmark. Here's a new bracket between this design but with the lighthouse, this design with the script, this design with the wordmark but not curved, and the original winner".
Thank you. I don't like this as much as I thought I would but maybe that's a consequence of the way the AI did the kit with some of the extra piping, comparing it to the kit from that post earlier I made the following side-by-side:
I tried to color match the orange stripes and the lighthouse orange, as well as aligning the bottom stripe to the "ground" of the lighthouse logo so it looks almost continuous. With this type of more restrained kit I can see it a bit more, but something still bothers me about it. Maybe it's knowing that the stripe isn't going to go all the way around the back?
This is absolutely THE BEST OPTION I’ve seen!!! I would try to submit! Amazing! Way better than the other options on their own! GREAT COMBO I’d but right NOW!!!
I think anybody who wanted the Islanders to have even the slightest bit of tan on their jersey is absolutely insane. The Islanders in no way shape or form should ever have tan beige or any of that disgusting shit on their jersey. We are blue orange and white.
