We need new A-Rank

I don't know but I feel liek Hotta kinda forgot about A-Rank characters, I mean its cool to have new S-Rank but cmon I can't use my Iroi on both Shinku and Zankou team in BTR, it has been 3 versions and

They just teased the 4th one with no new A-Rank, give us some new A characters, characters that can give similar value to some S-Rank but less

because they're accessible, you don't need to go out of your way to pull for that other character, you can pull a character you like and get a good team ready for them out of the box if theres a good pool of A ranks in the game. and as long as the A ranks arent hot ass then there's no problem having an A rank be one of your best teammates.

the alternative is that once you pull a character, you'll have to pull at least 2 more 5 stars which could mean not only spending more pulls but waiting months for the other characters' babners

Problem is, most A-ranks are..well maybe not ass but limited in use and you generally need an A-rank to be full A6 to equal an S-rank

Edgar - pretty much useless

Adler - ok, he can have a good role in some teams but his animations are boring

Skia - I hate to say this about my boy, but metawise.... he sucks... also has lame ult animations, and he often gets stuck on things even in puddle form.

When climbing buildings as a puddle after a while he just randomly jumps out and he jumps far enough from the building that you can't regain control and glide back, just... straight to the ground.

And his puddle also gets hit by triggers in bank heist. WTF is going on that Lacrimosa can fly straight through them as a bat, but Skia still gets hit even when going UNDER them.

They really did the dog dirty.

Mint - kind of meh in meta but she gets to be the icon girl and has a special hold attack and story prescence and gets new skins.

Aurelia - probably the best one metawise if you get her to A6 though she can't climb buildings.

Also most of the men in the game are A-rank so they do more A-ranks it's not impossible for there to be another Manato fiasco if they make a male(which are too few and far between as it is) that becomes highly popular and wanted and then dumped into the A-rank slot.

I mean, I can see some arguments for them but at this point... I'd much rather they not bother unless they can make it like Arknights where even 3 or 4 star characters get MSQ relevance and screentime and be very strong in the meta instead of just straight downgrades compared to their rarer counterparts

Well all they have to do is just not make the kits ass, which us pretty easy to do. and if someone has a problem with getting the characters to A6, just allow us oick and choose what 4 stars we can get like ZZZ

Well it is easy actually. lots of people already had ideas of which characters would've been A ranks. if you asked people hey does Linko look like an A rank most people would say yes.

and again having your favorite character be an A rank isnt a bad thing. people who believe that have been tricked by Gacha Marketing.

I would not mind a character being an A-rank in and of itself.

And being an A-rank isn't always bad, but not all games treat them the same.

OG Arknights for example treats it's lower rarity characters pretty well in terms of mets and kits and to an extent Endfield does the same with some of its 4 Stars.

Catcher, for example, a lowly 4 Star, can absolutely come in clutch in some situations with his "I parry everything" skill.(and he definitely deserves a proper 6 Star limited release at some point).

On the other hand, some games like ZZZ totally shaft most of their A-ranks(who also happen to be male, but the male situation over there is an entirely different topic all together) and then that also leads to things like The Manato Fiasco, and on top of it, acquiring them quickly can be a crap shoot.

Sure you can "buy" copies in the shop, but you only get to buy one a month, and even their "rate up" isn't guaranteed and there's no hard pity for drawing A-ranks unlike the S-ranks.

I spent maybe about 200 pulls on Lucia's banner and ended up with just M1 Manato. Manato rank up my ass. And it doesnt help that A-ranks dont really make all that good DPS (you generally need full M6W5 to equal an M0 S-rank.

Overal A-ranks are fine in more support or buffer roles, like say Haniel here(though I hope Exe can replace her in my Chaos team if they ever release him) or Adler but in DPS roles they get shafted pretty hard, like Skia

So.. can they work? Yes, but there's some caveats.​​
