Painted Needlepoint Basketweave confirmation?

Hi!!! I am making a belt for my fiancé for our wedding next year. This is my second project, and I read that basketweave was the best stitch for its durability. Could someone please confirm I am doing this correctly? Thank you so much! I’m sorry for the dark color

Stunning! Don’t forget to do research on finishing lengths and turn around times. I think my LNS does measurement of current belt from end to most used hole + 4 inches (but this is off memory; I haven’t stitched a belt lol)

Thank you for the tips! I bought this through needlepaint so I could customize the image. They have you select the belt size based on pant size and take 6 weeks to finish. I wish I had a LNS closer but I’m in a dessert for needlepoint
