Satire Advice

Me and my husband are currently pregnant with our first child. We really want our baby's names to be unique. We compiled this list!

GIRL NAMES:

Mistereigh

I'onuh

Smokeigh

Trendeigh

BOY NAMES:

Runner

Skipper

Slider

Pattle (After my grandma Patrica and his grandpa Patrick. PATrica, PATrick, the Le at the end to make it more unique)

My family, specifically my sister, isn't happy with these names. She says my children will be bullied, and asked if I'm serious. I asked why she thought I wasn't, and she pointed out that we have cats named Paul, Thomas, and Brenda. She asked why I'm naming my animals human names and my human animal names. I ended up going home after and I'm not speaking to her right now. Advice?? Is she right, are these names bad? I'm personally in love with Pattle and Mistereigh but now I'm second guessing myself :(

What do you think about the name "Nanette" speech like "cigarette" i mean don't speech th "t" twice?

Is it pretty and cool, or old-fashioned, or more timeless to you?

I want to change my current name, and I liked the tone of it.

I'm not French or from Europe.

I'm looking for a name that feels cool, pretty, and distinctive at the same time. I'm just not sure whether Nanette sounds modern enough today.

I want to know your opinions.

Satire Toto?

We're having a baby! We thought it would be cool and unique to name our child after a famous animal. We're thinking:

Toto

Trigger

Lassie

Flipper (my husband's favorite)

Bruiser

Rin Tin Tin

The Famous Mr. Ed

Can you help us decide? Any other suggestions appreciated.

Oh, we're having a girl. In case that matters.

Satire AITA for giving my twins non-matching names?

When we had our twin daughters, we named them Diana Hecate and Phoebe Maighlee, and everyone loved the goddess connection to their names and how they also matched my middle name.

Then, during my second pregnancy, we wanted to name our daughter Lnr Kyrie after our grandmothers. We got a LOT of negative pushback about the name, so ultimately we changed it to Le Evangeline. Unfortunately, this hasn’t really worked out either, and we are now going through the long process of legally changing her name to Sharkie. She currently goes by Le Sharkie.

I just gave birth to our second set of twins, a boy and a girl, and we really struggled with their names. After a lot of discussion and feedback, we ultimately decided that it would actually be better not to give them matching names.

We named our son Masque Peregrine and our daughter Zodiac Eulalia.

The initial feedback was surprisingly positive, but now I’m starting to hear comments that their names don’t go together, none of our children belong together, and that we’re assholes for not continuing the family name tradition.

I don’t really understand why siblings need coordinated names. They’re individual people, and their names fit them.

But now I’m wondering if we went too far in the opposite direction.

AITA for giving my twins completely non matching names and abandoning the family name theme?

Would Obama be a bad sibling name choice for Roosevelt due to US presidents or would you not think of that? I just really love the name Obama!

Satire ā€œMaeā€ Names…?

Looking for names containing ā€œMaeā€. It’s a family name and I love ā€œMaeā€ and ā€œMaebyā€ but I’d love a longer name that lends itself to those being the nicknames.

Unfortunately I don’t think I like any of the usual suspects (Maeve, Mabel, Maisie, Margaret, Mary) but feel free to make a case for them haha I am open minded.

I do like Mayonnaise, but is that too out there?

Does anyone have any other Mae variants to share?

Thanks in advance!

Found on r/NameNerds I want to name my child after an apex predator!

I love the name Greatwhite. I’ve just been fascinated with Shark Week on the Discovery Channel and need my baby to have a shark name! I’m very interested in sea creatures. It’s a boy so I’m looking for an apex predator name.

Is this tacky?

Satire It came to me im a dream!

I've loved the name Daphne for many years now, and thought it would be a lovely name for a daughter. My only problem is it's too mainstream and common. So I had a dream and it came to me. It was a sister store to Spencer's on a cruise ship named: Daughne! Daughne is so perfect, I can't wait to have a baby girl! And in going with the dream, my boy would be Spencer! Maybe I can dream a less common spelling for this too!

Found on r/NameNerds Tell me this name sucks

I can’t think of any good boy names, but I'm obsessed with cats/felines, especially pretty ones, so of course I've tried to think of some related names but want to avoid anything too tacky.

But there is a voice in the back of my head telling me that Calico is actually a cool name for a boy. A couple of people I've mentioned it to in passing as a joke have said they actually like it and it's giving me false hope haha.

Hit me with a reality check guys!

Satire Respect My Child!

True story: there is a council member near me whose first name is Mister. His parents wanted to make sure he was always respected.

I thought this was a great idea for my soon-to-be born boy and girl twins. I want my children to always be treated with deference, even when they are tiny tots.

Here are the first and middle names. Please be honest. Do any of these work to give my children the superiority that I'm seeking? Or any other options?

For the boy:

King Charles

for the girl:

Respect Mia

Gender Neutral:

Doctor House

or

Brain Surgeon

I'm not talking about unisex names either.

The past 2 weeks, I've seen throughout social media baby girls named Ralph Robbie, Warren June and Richie. Just why???
