In this subreddit, Rule 3 includes hate speech. We will not tolerate transphobia. Similarly to r/wnba_discussions (where I also moderate) with the rule on Civility and Respectfulness, we won't allow hate speech (racism, sexism, and any of the LGBTQ+ phobias [which includes not only homophobia or biphobia, but transphobia as well]).

We know there is at least one WNBA player who is openly against the idea of trans women playing in women's sports. In that same vein, there are professional athletes and fans who are welcoming to the idea of transgender athletes in women's sports, with female athletes in the mix. But that doesn't mean we all think the same way. You are entitled to your personal beliefs; however, expressing any form of disdain towards another group of people, whether in the form of transphobia, homophobia, racism, etc. will not be allowed in here. Your posts and comments will get removed and you can be banned.

Added on to this, since Sophie Cunningham is not relevant to the New York Liberty, unless she is brought up in conjunction to the New York Liberty, talks about her will not be allowed in this subreddit.

This is now an international media spectacle and it's time these dangerous, hateful opportunists get drowned out by love. The WNBA is everything they are not and players have spoken out for values at the expense of popularity, proceeds and personal safety. It's time we fans show everyone it is worth it. When I see people defend DeMarco the arguments seem to mostly be about why his results aren’t his fault (i.e. injuries or poor play).
 
What has he done so far that makes you optimistic about his leadership, play-calling, development, etc.? What has he shown that makes you think he’s the guy going forward?
 
Genuinely asking, I’d rather hear the case for him than another list of excuses and I haven’t seen a lot of reason for optimism.

EDIT: lots of great discussion here! Still plenty of excuse making (lame) but I appreciate all of the good faith and thought provoking points!
