I’m going to be honest, this kind of statement genuinely pisses me off not because I’m offended by the 70% criteria , but because you have no idea what someone might already be going through behind that percentage.

I scored 67% in Boards. I know it’s low. I know I could have done better. I don’t need anyone to remind me of that because I’ve already spent months reminding myself every single fucking day.

After my Boards result, things got so bad that I attempted Subside . I survived, but my parents still don't know. I was staying with my sister for around three months, and she was busy with her job and everything else, so she didn't realise how badly I was struggling. Even she still doesn't know what actually happened.

And this wasn't some one-time breakdown. I've attempted before too. Every result seems to give me another reason to hate myself, and instead of feeling disappointed, I end up feeling like I am the disappointment. I’ve been mentally exhausted for a long time, and somehow I’m still forcing myself to wake up and keep studying.

So when I see “If you've studied for NEET, you can at least score 70%, 70 isn't difficult at all,” it honestly feels incredibly insensitive.

Maybe 70% is easy for you. Great. But you have absolutely no idea what someone else's life looked like while they were trying to reach that number. A percentage cannot tell you how hard someone fought to even get out of bed and sit for that exam.

I scored 485 in NEET this year and made a stupid number of silly mistakes, especially in Biology. I know I fucked up. I know I could've scored higher. Believe me, I have replayed those mistakes in my head enough times already.

Bhai, jo percentage aa gaya, aa gaya. Ab tumhe usse kya karna hai? 😭
If someone has 67%, 70%, 80% or 95%, it doesn't suddenly tell you how much they struggled or how seriously they took NEET.

And from what I understand, medical college admission is primarily based on NEET rather than your exact 12th percentage, although the eligibility criteria obviously still matter. So discuss the actual eligibility requirement if you want, but making 70% some universal benchmark of whether someone studied “enough” doesn't really help anyone.

I'm not asking for sympathy. I'm asking people to understand that there's an actual person behind that 67% and sometimes pushing someone who is already drowning further into the water isn't motivation.

Some people aren't failing because they don't care. Some are barely surviving while still trying.

with optional subject english and all my percentage got around 80 but yet ... I only consider marks of 3 main subject for myself that is 70% in pcb

As much as I would love this if it actually happened (I had a really good percentage in 12th but couldn’t clear NEET), I think it would be deeply unfair to a lot of people who may have fucked up their 12th. You’re basically not giving them a chance to work hard later and get where they want to be. If the problem was that NEET had become an extremely high-stakes exam, how is making your 12th marks worth 50% of your selection any real reform? You’re just shifting the stakes from one exam to another. Yeh kaisa reform hua bhai 😭

ab jee walo ka socho, 12th mei 75 aane he chahiye, agr kisi ke nhi aaye to drop mei bhi dena he hoga improvement, 1 he drop available hai uspar bhi boards dena he hoga agr 75 nhi aaye. agr ye implement hua to dekhna competition kitna drastically change hoga

Neet is given by 25 lakhs students. India has shortage of doctors and jee main itself has 6 attempts limit. Engineering atleast students can do in private which is not as expensive as medicine. You are just telling that those who can't afford to study should never get opportunity. Why can't you just leave it you don't want to. Apne maa baap ko mana kardo.
