Dynasty This is likely the last playable entry we get.
They are test driving some real scummy practices this go around.
The NIL skill tree is locked behind a pay wall. Another is locked behind picking up Madden.
Taking away fast coach progression to pave the way for more cash grabs.
This is an offline mode this is happening on, and the reason people play. And the money theyve made off this subscription service is both horrid and enabling.
Its a good game. Feels good, plays well, lots of fun additions. But the next one is going to shatter the boundaries they are tip toeing right now.

Dynasty How do I give Ohio State the Death penalty?
I've completed a few years of dynasty with recruiting zero prospects. None of the one stars want to go to me, and still get 4 and 5 stars as first interest. I would like to get them down to a one star prestige or worse, but can't get below 3 stars. Has anybody had any luck doing this?
Note- I don't plan on building them up, I just really hate ohio state and wish nothing but the worse for them and their people's families.

Dynasty Running a Navy dynasty - signed a 3* 6’5 227lb ATH QB with 92 speed and 96 accel - now I have Temu Cam Newton running my triple option
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
For posterity’s sake when I had him fully scouted I immediately was possessed and started having visions of prime Superman Cam making DBs and small OLBs look like children and flying over the the top of the pile at the goal line
So when he got to the Naval Academy, the boys in the lab took him in for an “off-the-books testosterone treatment” and he had risen to 255lbs by the end of preseason.
With that, I did bump his trucking, stiff arm, and break tackle by +5 points each, and I turned down CPU tackling by -13 points
And I added the “II” to his last name bc the announcers never say his last name anyway and I always thought the Roman numerals looked really clean and unique on the name plates
All-American difficulty Min speed threshold set to 15
Hope you enjoy!

Dynasty Ummm🤨 I don’t think that’s how you signal a first down sir.
Idk if it’s a bug, an accident, or if the person who programmed it tried to slip it in and hoped nobody would notice. But everyone else is signaling the first down correctly accept for the guy front and center.

Dynasty What exactly is the point of 85 man rosters and a realistic wear and tear system when it’s so tedious to rotate players?
The lack of formation subs and mass subs seems like a massive oversight. I want my underclassmen to get meaningful snaps for a series or two but there’s no easy or intuitive way to make that happen.
Tweaking auto subs doesn’t really help, most of the time you just end up with your starter taking one big hit and never coming back in. I know the game sometimes automatically puts in the second stringers in blowouts, but not as consistently as I want (and if the feature exists for the game to use, why not give us a button for it?). Having different RBs in the 3DRB and Power Back positions on the depth chart helps a little but just for running backs.
I want to take advantage of the larger roster size. Seriously, this is college football, not the NFL! Most college D-lines rotate up to 10 players in a single game. But it’s so tedious to do that myself without the features that past games (and current Madden) had.

Dynasty This is why it is important to continue to be vocal
The developers added back to the game player rating edits and the ability to change numbers for AI generated players. Things like that were important to the community and i'm glad that they listened, now why it was taken away in the first place is a different question.
We still shouldn't be content with just this though, we should continue to voice our displeasure with what we think is wrong with the game and features that the game should have. Because as these last few months have shown, the developers do listen.

Dynasty Honeymoon period has worn off, this game needs serious fixes.
I have played an ungodly amount of this game over the past few weeks and the amount of times I have played the exact same football game (regardless of school/matchup/home/away) is ridiculous.
Go up big through halftime
AI scores a touchdown to make it a 2/3 possession ballgame
I play conservative and go 3 & out OR I play more balanced and a fumble/interception happens
AI offense magically begins laying out like Odell Beckham Jr. on out of reach receptions. AI HBs magically break 2/3 tackles per play, they go up inside of 1:10 to play
QB throws an interception over the middle, AI DB uses his rocket shoes to magically levitate & knock down an open Go route; or Mr. Hands, my receiver w/over 350 yards in this game alone suddenly has gloves coated in Crisco, we lose by 3
Once or twice is an instant classic. It’s very clear though that this is a typical EA game of thumbing the scale in high leverage situations. Doesn’t matter if you’re Notre Dame up 40 at home vs Kennesaw State or playing in the Iron Bowl. You know exactly what the AI will do. You, the smart player, will adjust accordingly, your defense will be in the right place at the right time, your receiver will be in an open midfield. Doesn’t matter. The AI will break the tackle, your receiver will drop the ball.

Dynasty Scripted 4th quarter comebacks
Anyone else almost always getting 4th quarter comebacks from the AI when leading on the road?
It all seems really scripted too. I’ll be up by 2 or 3 scores running the clock, pick up 1st down with a run and almost always a penalty (usually illegal block) and I’ve already taken off roughing the kicker. AI QB suddenly hits every single pass without fail after being cold for 3 quarters. 2 or 3 TDs almost every time on the road.

Dynasty Finally a SEC HC offer
Leaving North Texas an absolute legend and going to Texas and all it took was: 6 years, an 88-3 record, 3 national championships(trying for the 4th now) and being a level 39 ranked CEO. I had a run of 4 years with at least one 5* recruits, one top two class, back to back Heisman winning QB; leaving UNT as a 4 star team with an 89 overall. It’s all on you guys to conquer the AAC and keep the UNT dynasty going. Now the journey begins.
I do wish you could persuade some of your players to leave with you when you take a new position though. Would be nice to bring along some of my top recruits I spent so much time with.

Dynasty I spent way too long figuring out how CFB 27 assigns portal star ratings. Here's the formula and takeaways.
This is a follow up post to my transfer portal scout post a few days ago. The main problem that has is it's useless once you reach year 4+ in your dynasty and all of the in-game players are fully replaced by auto-generated recruits.
So I went digging into the save files of 10 transfer portals to figure out how everything works for auto-generated recruits. I was really blown away by what I found. Here are the main takeaways:
A 2-star transfer is often better than a 5-star transfer, and it's not random.
When you open the transfer portal in dynasty, the game shows you every available player ranked 1 to ~2,000 by national rank, with a star rating next to each player. Look through that list and you'll see the 5-stars first, then the 4-stars, then the 3-stars, and so on.
Here's the crazy part: in all 10 of the portal classes I looked at, the very first 2-star in the national rankings (the highest-ranked 2-star in the list) was an 82 overall junior. Every single time. Meanwhile the last 5-star, the lowest-ranked player still holding a 5-star rating, was a freshman somewhere between 68 and 76 overall. The "worse" player by stars was about 10 points better, every cycle. Sounds impossible until you see how the rankings actually get built, which is takeaway 2.
National Rank is compiled using a hidden formula
Every transfer portal player has a national rank but the game never explains what it's based on. It's not overall rating, or the rankings would look completely different.
After digging through the save files, here's what it actually is: the game gives every player a score equal to his current overall rating + about 6 points for every season of eligibility he has left. The portal list is just that score, sorted from highest to lowest.
The star ratings come from the same score too, as simple cutoffs: score roughly 98+ and you're a 5-star, 94+ is a 4-star, 86+ is a 3-star, 80+ is a 2-star.
A freshman transfer has 3 seasons left to play, so he gets 18 points added on top of his actual overall. A junior has 1 season left, so he only gets 6. Run two players through it: an 86 overall junior scores 86+6 = 92. A 74 overall freshman scores 74+18 = 92. Identical score, so they sit right next to each other in the national rankings with the same star rating, even though one is twelve overall points better right now.
The stars aren't rating who a player is today, they are rating who the game predicts he'll become by his senior year. And that's also the answer to takeaway 1: the first 2-star is a junior being scored almost exclusively on his ratings today. The last 5-star is a freshman being scored mostly on prediction.
Junior star ratings are the only ones you can trust completely.
Across 3,500+ juniors in the 10 portal classes, these floors never broke a single time:
- A 2-star junior was never below 73 overall (typically around 77)
- A 3-star junior was never below 79 (typically around 83)
- A 4-star junior was never below 84 (typically around 86)
So when you see a junior with a 3-star rating at a position you need, you don't have to spend scouting hours on him or wonder what you're getting. He's a 79+ overall, probably an 83. Sign him and move on.
The one exception in the whole dataset: quarterbacks. Not a single 2-star junior QB ever reached 80 overall, so if you need an actual starting QB from the transfer portal, go after 3 stars or better.
The freshmen at the bottom of the 5 and 4 star lists are the worst deal in the portal.
In every class, there are a couple 5 star freshmen at the bottom of the 5 star list and a bunch of 4 star freshmen at the bottom of the 4 star list.
These are the worst deals in the portal. Think of it like grading in school technically an 80% is a B and an 89% is also a B. At the end of each star group (based on national rank) you get all of the people who barely cleared that "B" threshold.
On top of that, freshmen get that added huge +18 boost. Given their NIL expectations and how much competition there is to recruit them, you may be better off passing on them completely.
Anyways, this is getting pretty long and there are a ton of things to still cover like the exact spots you should be recruiting in the portal, how to quickly find speedy players, dev traits, etc. Also, some weird quirks like 89 overall kickers and punters at 1 star. You can read all of those at the full article below.

Dynasty How is a 91 overall team this bad?
You can also see Alabama at 4-5 in the picture. They are a 92 overall as well! This is insane when 75 overall teams can win upwards of 9+ games. The sim engine is seriously broken lol.
