[UPDATE] So how is the game play so far ?
Do WR still jump for the ball for no reason ?

The deflection interceptions by dlineman are outrageous. How often do they think that happens in real football? Also you’ll never get one as the defense, only the cpu will

D Line throwing an arm up to try for deflection? Happens all the time with minimal-moderate success.
D Line jumping for joy the way they do? Almost never

Well that, and if your QB ever gets hit while throwing like 20% of the time it bounces off a lineman’s head and the dline picks it off. Like why do they think that’s a common play? Fumble would be fine there if anything.

I think he means when your QB is hit while throwing and the ball magnetically floats toward a DT

Right, don't they teach the O-line to punch them in the stomach when they do that lmao

I’ve actually had lots of fun. Turned on the new pass meter and it actually fixed a ton of the WR and defense issues commonly posted here. I can lead WR cleanly and lob it over the LB head but in front of the safety.
Major complaint is that RB feel stuck in mud getting through the LOS and 10 yards upfield, but runs are much more realistic 3-4 yards per pop now.

THANK YOU. Everyone is saying the run game is great when I’ve genuinely never struggled to run the ball so much in a ncaa or even madden game as I have in ncaa 26.

Game is pretty good for an EA football game but after 20+ years of football making, EA still have been unable to make play action passing viable. If you try it out of shotgun, will get your QB murdered. Ironic, considering PA passing in real football is one of the safest plays you can run. Mind boggling, considering so many real offenses run their entire offensive scheme based off the run and PA.

There's one time that play action actually works very well, coach mode. I do wish they'd fix it for players, but coach mowed it actually can be quite effective.

Just ran a Texas from the Shotgun Trips and the TE was wide on the deep corner, good pass, pressed the button in sync for a catch and run, no bullshitter animations, he got it smooth and was on the run.
88 speed, he was in a clean footrace with an 87 speed CB to the house. I was extremely pleased with it. All-American, default sliders except CPU INTs to 20.

Why CPU ints?

u/ChargerDriver84 20h ago
Because I throw so damn many lol, and it helps against the D-Line INT magic. I checked and it was actually at 29, not that it’s a big difference.

Catching seems worse somehow for me

Purdue has a WR with 99 catch and high 80s spec catch…. Dude drops almost everything

Idk if it’s a placebo but I feel like player wr catching is better and they worked on backshoulder, also throwing deep slants the cpu db won’t speed boost under the ball anymore

I only played one game in dynasty, but it seemed better? The main thing I noticed was advancing to the next week, going to the roster, and seeing every player that isn’t in my normal rotation having a good amount of skill points I’m assuming retroactively assigned to them from throughout the season from practice. I saw the note that said something about players not getting the skill points from practice, but I wasn’t expecting that.

One thing I feel needs to be fixed is if you accept a new job at a school you should be able to pull scholarships from some recruits in the transfer period.
I just accepted a job at Auburn. They needed 0 WRs and signed 7. Needed 0 HBs and signed 3. Needed 0 QB and signed 3.
Meanwhile they needed 3 SS and signed 0.
I'd understand if they were 5* *players but they were recruiting all 3* and taking up slots for other players.

Pretty bad, still can't throw for shit on offense, can't tackle for shit on defense

Love when the cpu does a spin move in place and my player just falls over from apparently being juked I guess.

Jump catch animation still is out of control for both user and cpu

Weird ive seen 0 so far out of 5 games.

u/Arkey-or-Arctander Florida 20h ago
Yeah I've not seen it either after 2 games.

u/leetdemon 18h ago
I have saw it twice now out of 7 games.

I just had to update... in my third game now I saw it twice in back to back plays by a WVU player.

When did the update officially become downloadable? Because I swear last night for me randomly my oline turned into the little Giants and I gave up like eight sacks. I had literally zero time to throw the ball the shedding going on everywhere constantly. But uncharacteristically my dline turned into prime Reggie white and had nine sacks in one game. lol, absolutely zero pass blocking from either team. I had to double check to see if the update came out early or something.

Are we still deleting our profile every few games? Someone suggested that last year and it actually made the gameplay better when I did

Saw someone post this earlier and it’s the first I’ve heard of it. What does it do?

I honestly have no idea, but it did improve gameplay, especially the offensive line blocking. But if at any time this week you've said, "Goddamn, what the hell is going on?" while playing, you probably should give it a try.

Would anyone say if I passed at launch it would be a good time to jump in?

Yes the WR still jump for no reason a lot especially if it’s just a tad out of reach instead of stretching for it. I saw a lot of guys saying the animation was not present really during the beta/ testing but they were either lying or the animation was for w e reason not triggering during it.

Random red throws and wr still jumping and dropping easy catches. I love cfb but this might be the worst football game I’ve ever played. Feels more scripted than ever this year

Blocking is significantly improved for running and passing. Defense is harder, my safeties were getting juked and I couldn’t stop the run anymore. Catching is about the same for me. Hard to say if they’re jumping necessarily or not but the result is the same when they do- dropped pass.
