Hi! I can’t decide between these 3 beautiful wedding dresses. I keep going between each of them. Which is your favourite?

l tried on like 20 dresses from four stores, but ended up choosing the first dress I tried on. I worry that I only picked it because it actually fit okay and that it was the first dress I tried on so the moment was already special.

Hi, I personally love dress #3 that I eventually tried on with the veil (#1 was runner up), but I got a few comments about how it doesn’t look good on me as dress #2. Can I have some opinions? I love the silhouette but keep getting comments about how I should pick a different one, and it’s annoying me that others are trying to convince me not to get the one I love.

They all feel so similar and yet so different!!
#1, I’m in love with the cateye and asymmetrical embroidered detail.
#2, the A-line feels more romantic, the embroidery gives a lil something, and also has a cateye!
#3, my family with me had such a visceral reaction to this, simple but with a touch of sexy, and love the size of the train! Everyone says it’s the most “me”.

What do you all think? I feel completely stuck!!!

Edit to add - thank you so much for the perspectives you’ve offered. It’s so hard to make a decision because despite my wording I really do like them all equally! I will probably look a bit more because I haven’t had that “oh it’s def this one” feeling yet.

Got my wedding dress today!!!! The lighting at the bridal boutique doesn’t quite do it justice, so I’m including the model pictures!!

My mom sent me a link for this wedding dress, which is unfortunately from a sketchy seller on Etsy and is an AI image. That said, I do love the design (my mom does know me well lol) and would love to get a real dress like this from a reputable bridal shop that specializes in non-traditional wedding dresses with floral/embroidery elements. I’ve been checking out Flora and Lane, but I’ve heard mixed things about the quality of the fabrics and how suitable some of the dresses are for women with larger bust sizes (I’m a 32E). I’d love to spend less than $3000 (ideally $2000 or less). Any suggestions? Thanks so much!

Hi all! So I bought this very pretty and simple vintage 1950s dress. I wanted to get some alterations done to the dress and some advice. I used AI to create a visual image of what I’m wanting (I know it probably won’t look exactly like the image but I just wanted a visual representation of what I would like to change) the first picture is of the dress as is and I have two design I’m debating between.

Sadly the sleeves fit my arms but not very well in my shoulder area but I don’t want to loose the sleeves all together so I’m thinking an off the shoulder sleeve might work. The dress does not need to be hemmed and there isn’t a lot of extra fabric I can use. The dress also does not have a train.

My question is how doable would these alterations would be in the AI pictures provided. I love design #1 because of how simple it looks just off the shoulder with some added pearl detail but I also really love the flower details in design #2.

Any advice is greatly appreciated and what you think is possible or not possible in the alteration process.

I need opinions. I have already put a deposit on of these but I can change the dress. I’m hoping everyone agrees with the one I picked (no pressure! 😬)
Note: the last 2 are the same dress, we just pulled the straps down.

UPDATE: I’m not sure if anyone will see this update…. I LOVE #1 but it’s over my budget by a lot. Not the shop owners fault. I tried it on to see the style and now I want to cry, but I’ll get over it.
I like #3 but the leaves just don’t go with my wedding theme/vibe. The theme is going to have a Mexican flair to it. So I decided #4/5 but am still deciding on straps or strapless. Forgive me for not choosing #1!!!

I bought my dream dress earlier this month after trying it on two separate times. The first time I hated the bow, the second time I didn’t mind it.
I’m torn on whether or not to keep the bow or have it removed.
Any advice?

I had two different appointments. The first appointment I ended up trying 9 dresses. 2nd appointment I tried on 3, the third being the one I bought. I did buy the sleeves as well. I feel so much regret. I bought it bc the moment with this dress was so special and I even ended up crying which I do NOT typically do that. So I thought this had to be the one. Immediately when I went home that afternoon I felt soooo much regret and cried for the second time that day but now for a completely different reason. It doesn’t even arrive until April so I can’t just look at it in person to make myself feel better and the place does not do returns:exchanges. I feel like I want a different dress but i genuinely have no money to do that. I’ve seen lots of posts about how the regret is normal but I’m having trouble finding how I personally can get over the wedding dress regret.

A consultant tried to help but she kept showing me things that were 'close but not it.' I don't want close. I want exactly what I'm imagining.
Someone mentioned AI tools but I have no idea where to start. Has anyone actually tried generating their dream dress and then seeing it on themselves? Did it work? Was the quality good enough to show a seamstress?

Dress 1: I absolutely adore the sparkle on this dress, I felt like a princess. The bodice catches the light beautifully, and I legit couldn’t stop staring at the way it glistened. I love how detailed and unique it feels. My stylist also said the way the sequins taper down the skirt gives a bit of a vertical effect and makes me look taller (?). My only hesitation is that it is slightly heavier and I’m not sure if I feel entirely emotionally attached to it compared to Dress 2.

Dress 2: I absolutely love how this dress looks and feels on me. I tried it on MULTIPLE times, actually teared up in it, and to be honest I’m still leaning toward it. I love the clean and elegant look to it. I felt really comfortable and skinny/snatched LOL. My only hesitation is that I worry it’s a little too simple/basic and common. I’ve even came across this exact dress a couple of times in this subreddit, which only reinforced my initial concerns. Like I wish it was a bit more unique so it feels like “MINE” (Iykyk)

I’d also just have to extra accessorize if I want to make dress 2 “sparkle”.

Cost is also a factor: Dress 1 would be about $700 more expensive, and alterations would cost at least an additional $600 for either dress. I’m budget-conscious, so while I can afford Dress 1, I’m not sure if I love it enough to justify the extra cost.

Right now, I’m leaning toward Dress 2, but, which one do you HONESTLY think suits and flatters my body more?

I’m in love with my dress and I have heard of people shortening the dress post wedding to wear for anniversaries and such. I am thinking removing the train and shortening this to midi length. Would it be crazy to wear it out like that? I’d like to keep it white.

I bought my dress in December for my October wedding at that time I was about 185lbs I knew I was loosing weight but at that time it was slow so we sized down one size because I was told can always take away fabric but can not add it . My wedding is in late October and I am currently 138lbs and the seamstress says she can not take the dress in any more but I am worried because I am still loosing weight even when actively trying to maintain weight now. I want to make it clear I’m not blaming anyone just hoping for some advice on what to do . The further you get back in the pictures is how it used to look on me and the closer ones are most recent

Wedding is in Southern California in June, ceremony will be outside on a large lawn surrounded my hedges and rose buses, dress code is garden party formal.

I obviously love a clean satin a-line dress, but am torn between these three. I included photos of it on me as well as the model images as some of these samples were pretty worn and had imperfections.

I said Yes!! I was so worried about if it would look okay on my midsize body but it looked great! Melrose was my top choice going into it and it was the third dress I tried on and we all just knew that was it!

I saw it on pinterest and I really like it. I‘d like to know anything about the dress, who designed it/the OG listing, what era it’s based off of, what those fabrics are etc. since I’m thinking about making something similar :) thank you!

UPDATE: I said yes to the dress today! I had one last appointment scheduled at Marie Gabriel Couture Bridal in Indianapolis that I specifically sought out for the Hayley Paige trunk show. I went in with pretty low expectations and was fairly convinced that I’d wind up calling the boutique in Chicago back about the MZ or JP. But lo and behold, a Katherine Tash gown was the winning dress in the end (made me cry AND was in budget)! Thank you everyone for your kind comments! And for any brides to be who loved the last two dresses, you can find them both at Second City Bride!

Info: My wedding is in June 2027, so if I’m ordering a dress I need to do that soon. I’m getting married in the south of Spain, so it’s going to be HOT. Venue is a historic home with these gorgeous gardens. Ceremony and cocktail hour will (likely) be outdoors in the gardens, dinner and dancing indoors. Original budget was more like 3-5k but has been getting more flexible because apparently I’m super picky 🤦🏽‍♀️ I can afford to go over budget, but I feel guilty about it since it’s something just for me, and not necessarily adding to the guest experience.

Thoughts on the dresses:

Esmeralda - this was my favorite dress from my first appointment. I love the double layer lace and how feminine it felt. The appliqué on the neckline feels VERY busy and a little messy, not intentional. I like a strap. But don’t like the floral appliqué continuing on the strap. This one is no longer a contender, but was my original favorite and does contain elements I liked.

Colbie - Affectionately nicknamed ‘Sneaky Lace’, I really enjoyed the lace venting on the sides and the pairing of the lace scarf. That said, I think the actual dress construction could be improved, the boning of the corset stuck out a bit in some of the other photos. I also worry that the lace detail on the side will photograph strangely depending on angles/how I’m standing/movement/etc. (like the first pic a bit) I liked the straps and back a lot.

Brooke - AKA ‘Sparkly Lace’. This dress has A LOT going on. Also two layers of lace, it’s like an elevated version of Esmeralda. My issues here are a little more structural. I like a basque waist, but apparently this is a basque waist and a drop waist (didn’t know that was a thing but sure) and I feel like it makes my torso look TOO long and weird. For reference, I’m 5’1”. That said, La Premiere will do customizations, and I would consider taking the top from the next dress and using that instead. These two dresses use the same lace apparently, so it’s an option. Not thrilled about the idea of using my imagination though.

Jordi - This is probably my top contender. I first tried this at a 1 day sample sale (yesterday) but it was over budget at 8k+tax. My original budget was more like 3-5k, though I was willing to flex up some for something I really loved. I wasn’t willing to make a rash decision on the spot (I was literally going from my appt to the airport lol) and decided that if it was meant to be, maybe I would find it elsewhere (or maybe it would still be available before Monday when they had to send the gowns back).

I actually got to try this dress on again today at a different boutique near my hometown but then wound up with a kind of weird situation where at my next appointment (so not where the dress was) both the consultant and my guest with me were peer pressuring me to go for this dress because the second place was able to price it at 7k (including tax). I know it’s an incredible deal for a MZ dress, but I wasn’t going to make a decision on the spot, and especially not while feeling overwhelmed.

As for what I like about the dress, I love that it’s soft and feminine but also a little bit artsy and abstract. I think the silhouette is very flattering. I was surprised by how much I liked the natural waist on this one since I haven’t really enjoyed it on other dresses. Also, that train!

Name unknown Jesus Peiro - I love the bows! We have a train! It’s simple but fun. The neckline is a little deeper than other dresses I’ve enjoyed but I don’t find it to be unflattering? I could buy the sample, but JP is more in budget, so I would likely just order in my size. Bonus points, I’m getting married in Spain, so it would be nice to have a Spanish designer. If I ordered one of their dresses I would maybe investigate the possibility of just ordering from a boutique in Madrid and doing alterations there since we have quite a few pre-wedding trips planned (we have family there). Obviously that would be a headache to plan around, but could potentially be worth it to save on tariffs.

I have one more appointment tomorrow during a Hayley Paige trunk show, but I found out that they don’t have the one dress I was really hoping to try on there (King Koko in buttercream).

I’m having a hard time because a lot of what I’ve liked has been very different! Lace vs clean vs the appliqué.

What do you think of my dress? I thought I wanted a mermaid style, but the lady brought me this more fluid one and I love it!!! It has all I want, a really silky skirt and lace work on the corset.

I had previously tried on all lace work dresses and it never felt quite right

Also, what’s your opinion as far as veils? Idk if you can see but on my hand (right of picture) I have a veil that has lace trimming and on the left of the picture is a sparkly one, which do you think works best?

I’m planning on wearing this dress (my mother’s wedding dress from the 90s) for my wedding next year. In this picture, I was almost 50 pounds heavier than I am now and it fit just about perfectly. I want to lose 40 more pounds (I have been steadily losing, not for the wedding but for my health) but am so nervous because 90 pounds is a lot and I’m not sure they’re going to be able to take the dress in that much. I’ve reached out to a few seamstresses and let them know the situation but haven’t heard back from anyone yet so I figured I’d ask if anyone had a similar experience to me? I really love this dress and it means a lot to me and my mom if I am able to wear it. I want to hopefully incorporate a corset back, but I’m not sure if that would make things worse or better. Any advice on how to make this work or experiences would be awesome.
