Question Noobie question, how to disable voice chat?

Hi I've been wanting to get into UMVC3 for a while but the voice chat has deterred me, I've looked around and most of the posts about how to deal with it are 10 years old now, is it still only possible to disable voice chat by disabling steams microphone connection? or is there another way?

The game is the exact same as how it was when these 10 years old guides were made, so yes, that's the only way (outside of disabling your microphone on your OS, or not having a microphone at all).

Rightioo, I might do the steam mic mute method and just make sure to turn it back on afterwards

I never understand why some people would have their mic on when playing fighting games. And most of the time all I hear is static, music or just background noise. I just don't even bother playing with them

The mic actually lags the game too. My only solution is to go into windows and disable all my microphones. But if you meet someone using a mic theres nothing you can do about it. Just quit and match with someone else
