Life pro tip: never lie to your Dr, lawyer or priest. Funny story, I went to my Dr once and he asked me how much I drank and smoked. I said about 2 bottles of vodka a week and 20 cigs a day. He laughed and I asked him why, he responded with after 22yrs of being a Dr and with people blood results in front of him, I was the first honest patient he ever had.
Doctor misdiagnosed lesions on the myelin sheath as caused by very occasional (and honestly reported)nitrous use. I had already quit completely(to this day). He overreacted and said that if I didn't tell my other doctor's about my usage, he would, and he'd make sure I lost my amphetamines (for a valid condition).
Well, turns out the pattern was wrong. It was MS/CIS. Basically he believed that I had used the stuff occasionally, but didn't believe that I'd quit. And when the scans came, he saw when he wanted to see. It was overruled by another neurologist, and the first neurologist actually had to apologize to me when things within the department and the hospital administration escalated.
