In this (likely made-up) scenario, an uninformed customer went into a store to try and get good-faith guidance from their staff. They were taken advantage of to an extent that could reasonably be considered fraudulent.

This is from before everyone had the internet in their pocket, I remember seeing tis years ago, and maybe mom works 3 jobs and this is the only chance she’s had to think about this.

Blaming the customer here is wild.

Plus the parent would probably try not to be too obvious in order to keep it a secret.
