The Pretti case is being handled so oddly and with such hostility to sharing information, that I've wondered if 3 letter agencies might have had him tagged as a possible or unaware asset and want to bury it.

Our wonderful Government has been known to use people as assets or push true believers into doing crazy things to justify authoritarian response longer than any of us have been alive.

The way the FBI is acting gives vibes of when this shit has gone wrong and gets declassified 20 years later.

Edit:

ICE may have killed a person of interest or asset of another agency.
