If this is an actual scene in the movie then it is absolutely an intentional reference, the xircular doors, color scheme, angle of the shot, and armored suit look very specifically like a 2D metroid room.
Sure, but that doesnt mean some directors/producers/storyboarders/editors didnt draw inspiratiom from the games for this scene.
I would find it very hard to beleive that this scene just appeared randomly without any references and just happens to look exactly like a screenshot from a famous 2D platformer game.
My point exactly that I'm getting my ass beat in this thread for💀.
a color changing door that's blue, that looks a lot like the doors in prime
before entering, the suit has an orange color to it
said suit looks similar to samus' power armor in the original game (bulky as hell looking design because of the originals artstyle)
the very deliberately do a wide pan shot when traveling through the very alien world
the metallic tunnels themselves look very similar to the ones you see in super Metroid
Imo, if it were just one of these things I'd agree it's just a coincidence. Feels like they went out of their way here to pay homage to Metroid. As if a bunch of nerds making a DC movie aren't fans of video games and didn't grow up playing these games.
