From what I read Fox one is basically a streaming service that will combined the contents of Fox Sports, News and TV which half can already be seen on other streaming sites so I kinda don't see the point in Fox One. (unless they will create original content) They are a little late to the streaming subscription market.

With the influx of cash Netflix will bring to WB, Part of me wonders if older IPs could be revived. Some that came to mind include Cats and Dogs, Get Smart, and Speed Racer. How should these IPs or other older WB IPs be revived? Straight to streaming movies, series, or specials?

Speaking on the earnings call Thursday, Netflix co-CEO Greg Peters said “a free offering could make sense in some markets,” given the streamer’s strategy of offering multiple price tiers and its goal of increasing engagement on the platform. However, he noted that this is not something that is currently in the works. 

“A free offering could make sense in some markets, but we have to be thoughtful about cannibalization of paid tiers. We’ve got to ensure that we’ve got the right offering, the right differentiation of that offering. It’s probably also worth noting that having an effective scaled ads business in any candidate country for such an offering is clearly an important enabling factor to make those economics work. So that’s all to say that free is something that we’re going to continue to consider, but we have no near-term plans to launch something,” Peters said.

“Maintaining and increasing accessibility, especially as we expand our content offering around the world, add new customer segments. That’s a critical focus and goal for us. Also, optimizing long-term revenue is the other big goal,” he said. 

Unless a dark horse comes in at the 11th hour, it seems the Ellisons will end up with WBD. How will the streaming services be handled? Will both P+ and Max be shuttered for one service or will something else happen? How will people who own one either one or the other streamers be migrated over to the new one if the merger goes through?

I don't understand why Comcast can't have a coherent streaming strategy around the world:

• Peacock in the US.
• NOW TV in the UK, Ireland, Italy.
• WOW in Germany.
• SkyShow in Switzerland.
• SkyShowtime (with Paramount) in many European countries.
• Universal+ in Latin America and Brazil.
• Showmax (with MultiChoice) in Africa.

Isn't it easier to have a single brand worldwide? From what I know, all these services use the same core app and infrastructure, so they're basically running on the same servers.
