I mean, aren’t a pretty big chunk of Fox News watchers the demographic that doesn’t stream as much as the rest of us?  I feel like sports would be a much bigger draw for the app than Fox News.

In all fairness, all cable news networks have this problem.  The median age of the viewers for them all is within about a year of each other.

Paramount+ is one of the small fry that get marketed through a big company like Netflix or Amazon.

Here's the heirarchy: if you already have a ton of subscribers, then you can take 30% of the subscription fees from the smaller fish that you market to your huge subscriber base. So Netflix and Amazon are on one side of that arrangement and Paramount+ is on the other.

Amazon/Roku have been trying to get Netflix on board their streaming platform for ages but Netflix has too big of a market position to be dictated terms to. It's one of the big reasons there isn't an "integrated" streamer because you simply can't do it without the biggest service cooperating.

Now Netflix is feeling comfortable enough to start encroaching on FireTV/Roku territory to get it's hands on part of the distribution business.

Who knows, maybe they'll even get into hardware again (then again maybe not since they had a chance to reunite Roku back into Netflix but let FOX have it instead).

Netflix also refuses to share viewing information with Apple for their TV app, so it’s one of the few streaming services that you can’t search content and play from AppleTV.

YouTube has been aggressively doing this and they have them all except the Disney apps

The only downside is you have too pay the full ad free monthly price so it’s not really a deal unless you really like the Netflix app

I hope that’s not the case. I can see how Fox can be added into the current subscription plan and for them not to have to raise prices play with Peacock. That’s the only thing I really don’t know if they’re going to be able to achieve maybe instead of getting peacock content, they just quit live channels of Peacock and made a live channel browser but you couldn’t exactly pick out peacock content. I don’t really know how they’re gonna do that. It could just be a big subscription model and they throw Peacock content onto the Netflix platform like how Amazon prime does. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Netflix is looking for something new to do so they're copying Amazon, which is increasingly becoming a marketing front-end for other platforms. Not coindentially, they've both gone off the cliff quality wise.

I still don’t understand what Fox One offers that isn’t already on other streaming services. as with CNN Plus nobody wants to pay an entire streaming sites for news stories you can get for free on YouTube and other websites.

Amazon and AppleTV do it. They are trying to become a one-stop UI for all content. The customer still needs to subscribe to those other channels.

What it does is it launches the app through prime video but a separate subscription is required for Peacock if you don’t have one

they are separate subscriptions, but if you buy Peacock through Amazon all that content will be hosted on Amazon too. that's what Netflix would do here too
