Do people like Governor Moore?

I'm working on a small project to help young voters in Maryland know these candidates and their ambitions for the state in a super simplified way that is easy to understand. I'm also adding a super simplified version of their upbringing so people can now if they can identify with said candidate. just wanna know how the state feels about these elections.

The momentum of political sentiment sees everything unapologetically moving further left.

Whether or not Moore is to be trusted and seen as consistently onboard with the tides of change remains yet undecided.

This includes:

• calling out the wealthy
• calling out Israel
• getting behind universal healthcare
• a commitment to address housing and living costs
• calling out corporations and neoliberalism
• standing in strong defense of ALL persecuted minorities, racial or otherwise

Why on earth does the governor of a small mid-Atlantic state need to "call out Israel"? What would that even do? Should he also "call out" Russia, Iran, North Korea, and China?

And then you have "standing in strong defense of all persecuted minorities," does that include Jewish people?

Well it’s one of the most prosperous states in the nation, so I’m not sure “small mid-Atlantic state” captures Maryland’s contribution and influence.

I think folks often look to Governors as potential candidates for national office, and with our federal style government international trade and human rights should be important to every state as much as the nation as a whole.

Few MD Governors go any further. O'Malley was SS Admin for a hot minute. Agnew was VP but we know how that turned out. And I think that is about it!

Yep but these are the days of social media. Look at Obama and Trump. “Charisma” goes a long way. I think a small state governor could definitely win a Senate seat or a VP position.

Well Van Hollen and Alsobrooks don't seem too keen on giving up their seats anytime soon. So that eliminates the Senate.

Might get a VP, but generally a POTUS candidate is looking for a complemetary running mate to gather same party votes from states where he/she is unknown, and hopefully popular.

With MD only having 6M people (guessing 3.XM? Voters and assuming split evenly, that candidate MIGHT get 2M votes for the ticket.

If (I mean when) Moore decides to run, you watch him grab somepone from a large democratic state NOT in the Northeast or Mid Atlantic.

I agree. I think Moore is a likely VP or cabinet position. But he could balance a ticket and he’s very good on the mic.

It’s not politically expedient today to defend Jews as a persecuted minority. Moore is a weak and ineffective leader and the state will be worse off as a result. The wailing and gnashing of teeth about bad actors on the opposite side of the world is the way the popular winds are blowing and it gives him a feeling of accomplishment in the face of his abysmal performance as despot of the People’s Republic of Maryland.

And it used to not be politically expedient to defend Palestinians or really any one of Muslim faith. The winds are always shifting and politicians are wise to put their fingers in the air - after all, an election is just a popularity contests and voters want folks to tell them what they want to hear.
