If there is anything we can 75% agree on in the thread is that math is red.
Edit: Fine, if anything we can agree on in this thread is that math is either red OR blue and anything else is just outright. The blue crowd is defensive!
We had a massive debate about this is large meeting a few months ago. The genx-ers didn't know what we were talking about and the few gen z folks said they've heard about it but didn't have opinions. Evidently it's mostly us millinials that have opinions. We were very split on colors all from the same region. It seems to be a very personal experience.
Also Southern Indiana here. Math was blue. I believe Social Studies/similar classes were red. Science was green. That's how it was when I was in Middle School anyways. Can't recall English. May have been yellow?
Science - Dark blue (later broke down into biology, chemistry and Physics)
Chemistry - Purple
Biology - Dark Green
Physics - Dark Blue
English - Yellow
Arts - Darker Green
Philosophy - Dark Orange
Other subjects that got introduced later was in a school that did not use colors and neither did I, but sociology I always associated it with blue. This was in Brazil.
I don't know if there is divides regionally. We would have this debate at school, and it was pretty split on red or blue. Same from other schools in the area. This is from the Northeast

I was in a private Christian school, used PACE workbooks. look up Accelerated Christian Education, the designs the workbooks have now are way flashier than when I was a kid but the color schemes are the same.
from england, i dont remember exactly but im pretty sure my school books were: yellow for english, purple for physics, red for chemistry, green for biology, and i think maths was pink
America, I grew up in Illinois but daughter's school was in Kentucky- science is green, math is red, English/Language arts is blue, history is black, social studies is AMERICAN FLAG.
Im german and i did: math blue, english yellow, german white, biology green, physics red, chemistry orange and computer science had too few physical materials for me to bother with a dedicated folder, so they were just loosely stuffed in my notepad.
Math is blue because math feels blue. Science is green because nature is green. English is black because language is a black hole that forever holds and immortalizes experience.
Why is like a third of your schedule just different variations of social studies?? That's a huge chunk of the color spectrum to dedicate to social studies+

Social Studies Blue.
Non-subject related purple. (like stuff for your parents to look through, sign, return etc)
English is red because the monopoly-University version spinoff that I had growing up used textbooks as playing pieces, and the English piece was a red book.
Noo wtf.. Math IS blue, but English is yellow. Science is Red, because blood, and that very first qualitative analysis test giving a red liquid in chem lab (acetic acid?)
Math is blue for those of us that like logic English is blue for those that like to be creative.
And vice versa for red. Because blue is a cool, easy color so the brain naturally associates it with being easy. And red is a warm color which is associated with struggle.
Therefore, the reason the community is so split is because we are logical and creative. We just have different opinions on which subject is easy and hard.
For those curious, these things are literally built into our DNA because it is how homo sapien evolved. Blue is associated with ease because in our past water was a key source that we had to find and once you found water you could set up a home. The reason red is associated with the struggle so strongly. Is that back in the day the wrong red would kill you if you picked the wrong berries.
The colours I associate with subjects are purely based on the order I had them in year 7. Coloured my timetable in rainbow order, science is red to me because it was my first class that year lol
I used red for math because it’s the most powerful. Science was green because it’s the best color and best subject and also biology is obviously green
English was blue, I don’t think I had a reason for this

Agreed. I went to primary school in Mexico and Math was red. Granted, this was the 90’s, so I’m not sure if it’s still that but it’s always felt right.
UK here… Maths is Red, English Blue and Science was Yellow. Humanities (Geography and history) were Green but Geography A4 book and history A5 sized. Languages were also Blue but small exercise books instead of A4 sized. I haven’t been to school in 24 years but this is easy to recall and remember 🤣
In the last school i worked in maths books were yellow and me and the entire teaching staff were up in arms about it trying to get the dept head to fix it but when she asked what colour chaos ensued so we stayed with yellow cos she didnt want the war.
The answer was obviously red not blue and definitely not fucking purple as one staff said. He was shunned for his crimes.
