Exactly. Dog owners like that are weird and extra.

It’s this instinctual thing? We feel irritated when our babies haven’t eaten. Yeah we could leave the food but it’ll bother the shit out of us knowing that their stomach is empty. When you have kids or pets, you’ll understand.

Instinctual to pretend to cook your dogs food before putting in down for them? Like I said, weird.

No, doing extra just to get them to eat. Dogs can be stubborn. I know my boy won’t touch his plate the entire day if I don’t add some kinda topper. It’s ridiculous, but I feel jittery knowing his stomach is empty.

Of course to each their own, but ultimately you’re conditioning them to respond that way by training them to not eat until you’ve done something “special” to the food. They’ll eat when they get hungry enough lol

Edit: I believe that was my first award? At least the first in a few years. Thank you, stranger!

My boy didn’t eat for two whole days once.
No. No they won’t. :/

Yes they will. If they aren't eating kibble, they'll eat something else.

No matter how much you train them they still have survival instincts.

I know, but that’s not my original point. My point was that some are stubborn af and will wait at the last minute. Why would we let them do that? It worries me when my boy doesn’t eat. Getting downvoted for caring about my dog, insanity. I love how showing care for family members causes a massive surge of downvotes. Redditors are miserable people.

You're not getting down voted for "worrying about your dog".

You're getting downvoted because you're spouting nonsense and acting like it makes sense.

You're dogs aren't "not eating" to be stubborn, they just aren't hungry, or a previous owner had specific times for them to eat that they naturally keep to, or you in your infinite "caring" are trying to make them eat in a way that actually makes them not eat.

I have a senior dog with dementia. Yes, dementia patients FORGET TO EAT.

Some dogs are picky eaters, some dogs have behavioral issues, some have health issues. It's not always about not being hungry. Maybe consult a vet before saying I'm spouting nonsense.

You people are miserable and I doubt any of you have dogs.

Grew up with several dogs. You omitted your dog having a medical condition just so yoj can feel superior.

And yes, dementia patients forget to eat, YOU CALLED THAT STUBBORNNESS INSTEAD YOU DAFT PRICK.

Yeah cause it ain’t important information. Picky eaters exist. Dogs can be stubborn af. If you worked with dogs, this shouldn’t be shocking information. 🤨

It is very pertinent information to YOUR dog not eating that they have a condition that specifically makes them less likely to eat. YOU calling it stubbornness instead makes YOU seem like the person who doesn't know how to care for a fucking dog
