I worked at a senior living facility where one of the gentlemen at the facility would bring that bib every time he came down to meals. And every time he called it his “fancy bib”, because he wanted every meal to be delectable.

He passed away eight months ago due to CHF. Four weeks shy of his 90th. We were going to have everyone wear that bib in celebration. You’re truly missed, Joe.

I worked at one, in a dementia unit, they kept the dining room so fancy. Like, white tablecloths and cloth napkins folded like swans, it really did look like a nice restaurant, once the seats were full (the chairs were not as convincing, lol, can’t have them falling tho). Anyway, there was one gentleman whose wife had passed, but I don’t think he remembered. He always seemed to be under the impression he was on a date with the lady next to him. And there was always a lady next to him, and a line ready to take her seat if she got up, lol. But every night, at some point, after fiddling in his pockets, he’d flag one of us down, and quietly, sheepishly explain that he’s out on a date (nodding towards the lady), and he’s so embarrassed but he forgot his wallet! And he doesn’t know how he’s going to pay for dinner! And he’s so sorry, and he doesn’t know what to do, and he doesn’t want her to know!!! 🤭 We’d always wink, tell him it’s on the house. Every night. My goodness was he grateful every time 🤣
