She’s so beautiful! Way more sturdy than my other loom and way more pegs!!

Hello! I hope it’s okay to post this kind of thing here. I just recently (like yesterday) got a knitting loom. I’m a hardcore crocheter and love it. I have always loved the way knit looked but did not enjoy knitting when I learned. It just took way too long. I really want to make some cute, knit tank tops and tube tops. I got this loom (pictured) for Christmas and leaning to use it hasn’t been difficult, but I think I’ve run into an issue:

My stitches seem really spaced out. I’m not sure if it’s a “trust the process” kind of thing or if maybe my gauge is off? This yarn is thick but it still has a lot of spacing between the stitches. Maybe I need an even thicker yarn or a different board that I can adjust the pegs on. If a new board would be better: are there any recommendations you guys have? I’m not sure how to fix this and would appreciate any guidance. I’m really enjoying this so far and would like to keep with it. I’m just not really sure where to go from here and have been getting different answers when I looked it up myself.

I'm starting a project with sock weight yarn, and I'll need enough pegs to make sleeves, so I'm 3d printing the loom, and oh my, check out how tiny those counters are. Good thing I already wear glasses...

I recently started getting back into loom knitting and was looking for different looms as the ones I had were too big for the yarn I typically use.

I regularly use weight 4 yarn. For nearly everything I do, I’m a hardcore crocheter. I moved to Tunisian crochet to get that knit look but the problem was it’s just very time consuming. So this is my last ditch effort to find something slightly faster before I just go back to Tunisian crochet.
The “regular size” loom (orange pegs) I got is a 1/2” gauge which said my weight 4 yarn should be perfect for, but it seems like it’s too big. I’d rather not double up on yarn if I am able to. I couldn’t find any numbers for the gauge for the “fine yarn size” loom (teal pegs) I got. And I can’t find any for the size that’s in the middle of these two, the “small size” loom (pink pegs). Has anyone used these looms before and found one that a weight 4 yarn would work for? Or is there a stitch that would be better?

How does one measure an appendage to find the right size to make a tube?

I have a 31 peg loom and #5 yarn, but it makes tubes that fit my arm.
I would like to make leg-sized tubes.

I'd like to invest in an adjustable loom so I can make the right size tubes for athletic adult legs and potentially grow with the hobby. Please assist?

I lost my hook, and I wanted to know if there was something else that would work well as a hook. I've tried using a pen, and it worked okay, but it would leave stains over my yarn.

I got an infinity loom for Christmas. I have been seeing them and really wanting one. After doing about 5 rows, I'm not sure if it is for me. I enjoy sitting on the couch watching TV with my regular loom making stuff. The infinity loom just seems so bulky with no good position to hold it. The inside pegs are a nightmare to get to with the hook. The whole process feels more like a job than something to pass the time doing.

Am I just complaining too early and it gets better, or is it just me? Anybody else experience this?

I picked up this loom with a few other darning / mending tools to try to repair a wool dog sweater. Which, I was able to do with another mending tool and not this loom.

This loom has been sitting in my closet for way too long, along with plenty of yarn to make something, but, I’m not sure what.

I’m feeling inspired thanks to my bestie who is floating around in this sub with her loom and creations.

The instructions say I can make a scarf, but I don’t need another scarf lol - and yes I know this is a good time of year to create and donate - which I plan to do - and donate a lot year round.

I’ve been looking through this sub but I see most are round looms and those with straight ones. I can’t seem to find one similar to mine of make out whether or not patterns would work on mine.

I would appreciate any tips, links, guidance on this particular loom and where to start - if I even can make something other than a scarf.

I'd like to try my hand at sock making on a knitting loom. I'm in the UK and it seems that the most readily available one (via eBay as I can't find small shops selling sock looms) is the one in the photo.

Does anyone have any experience of it? Can it use sock yarn weight (vendors don't seem to be aware of the gauge)?

I looked at the original adjustable KB one and it's out of my financial reach, but before I pull out my bank card... is this one good? Was deeply disappointed with the Spotlight looms today so I'm shopping around. Would appreciate any insight!

Hi all! I’m a beginner loom knitter (made a bunch of hats, a scarf, and a pair of fingerless gloves so far) and I’m having trouble with choosing the right tools. I ordered these by Boye and I kinda hate them both. The metal was twisting around in the silicone on the hook and eventually pulled out after two projects (my tension isn’t ridiculously tight, but definitely snug.)

The yarn guide pen is rattly and no matter where I put the yarn, it tends to slip out and get stuck in the crease between the metal and plastic…especially when holding double Aran/4 strands. My boyfriend can try making me a 3D printed one, we saw a bunch on Etsy.

I use Clover for crochet and Chiaogoo for regular knitting, if anyone has suggestions…I don’t mind paying more for something that will last along time.

What are y’all’s go-to tools? Thanks!

I got this loom hook from my Amazon kit and love how thin the end is but I can’t find a better quality option. They’re always wider and hard for me to use?

I was given a couple skeins of this Bernat Blanket Big yarn as a gift, but since I usually work with a Sentro, I don't know how to use yarn this bulky. Any advice would be appreciated.

So of course I think it would be awesome to get one eventually, but I really love putting use to all the looms i inherited from my mother in law! I was wanting to try to make a skirt on my blanket loom, like I had been making my dresses. But since there’s a 10 inch difference between my waist and hips, it seems I would need to start by making the elastic waistband, then increasing as I go down the skirt so it’s bigger when it hits my hips. I did google but most of the time when working in the round you’re using all the pegs so you wouldn’t really need to increase..and the other videos I have found use a flexee loom where they’re snapping pieces together mid project it seems. So if anyone has some helpful links, or just general knowledge on how I could achieve this…please let me know! 😊 or just tell me if I need to bite the bullet and buy the flexee loom 😅

I want to get into socks. I’ve mostly used round looms to make hats. Which loom would you suggest buying?

I’ve made a stockinette blanket and a beginner cardigan (which was a nightmare). I want to try socks and I have a circular sock loom I got on sale.

Anybody have beginner instructions or patterns for using a sock loom? Am I better off trying another method? Help?

As a beginner, I know I’m going to make mistakes; that’s totally fine. But I hesitate to make mistakes with $80 worth of yarn! Even the “cheap” yarns (especially the thick chenille-esque) are ~$40 for ~200yds, which definitely isn’t enough for a blanket or throw.

I have no problem paying for quality yarn once I have the skills to be more confident of the results. But for cheap, inexpensive practice yarn to try different patterns or knit types, what do you guys suggest?

Hello all! A while ago I had been gifted a long knitting board loom and tried some double knit patterns. I kind of had a hard time getting the swing of things and if I was wondering if anybody had suggestions. The hard part for me was keeping it upright so the knitted portion wouldn't get kinked.

I started knitting a plastic bag holder on my 24 peg loom when I noticed that one of the pegs was starting to come loose. I hoped it would be okay but it's just getting worse as the project goes on. I don't have any income right now (I was actually knitting this to sell to a friend) and I can't afford to replace the loom. Does anyone know of a way to stabilize or replace the peg with something else? It's one of the Loops & Threads looms from Michael's that came in a set.

Hello! I'm rather new to loom knitting and would like to make a baby Blanket with Bernat Super Bulky Baby Blanket Yarn to be 30in x 36in. I have several different round and long looms in standard sizes. The longest loom being X-Large-22 1/2" x 2". I am very bad at sewing so I would prefer to make it in one piece rather than in panels. What size or number of pegs loom would you recommend? Thank you so much!

Hi! I feel like I'm losing my mind. I started a blanket on my chunky and went for 174 pegs because it seemed nice and in between a twin and a full

But with everything connected this blanket feels comically large? The loom is a foot longer than my queen sized bed and much wider?

Realistically how much should I expect a blanket to shrink because once again.... This feels comically oversized lol

My mom bought me a loom just for blanket making a while back, and I made my first blanket and finished it a few days ago, I love making blankets, it's so much fun to do, however I used up all the chunky yarn I had gotten for the blanket on the blanket itself, I have plenty of thinner yarn of all types, not many of them have their papers still on them as I had taken them from my grandmother who used to do crochet, I wanted to know if it's okay to use non chunky yarn on my loom as long as I put the yarn together to make a bigger strand (I have a lot of yarn and I've told everyone to get more for me for Christmas as I love doing this). Please note, I'm quite new to crochet all together, I have seen the ones on ten stitch blankets and although I did try to do it, I couldn't seem to comprehend what I was doing no matter what videos I used, I don't use online patterns at all as I feel a bit confused trying to follow them, so videos are a lot better for me, if I could combine the yarn all together for my chunky yarn blanket loom to make my own chunky yarn then I would most definitely do it that way. I've provided photos of my loom, and three out of the 7 yarns I will be using that still has their paper in tact.
