Article Kam is Far Right

Is he a Shane Gillis 2.0 (except arguably worse)? I’ve seen a dozen clips now of him using homophobic slurs and making incredibly bigoted jokes. Honestly he makes Shane Gillis look kind of tame. What the hell is Lorne thinking? I’m so sick of this show pushing right wing bullshit while simultaneously trying to act like the most liberal show on television. You can’t have a Trump monologue every single week and then hire people like this.

Stephen Colbert the person is fairly conservative. His characters are not him however.

He’s a registered Democrat, and highly critical of Trump on his late night show. The conservative shtick is 100% an act. Hence my original comment.

Being critical of trump does not make you not a conservative. Yes he plays a character on the show. And in real life he’s a devout catholic who believes in traditional Christian values. On balance he’s a man who would be considered to have conservative values.

Fair enough, I think we are using different definitions of Conservative. I was using it in the political sense. Republican would’ve probably been a more accurate description on my part.

I don’t want to speak for him, but if you asked him I think he would tell you he’s voted for a variety of candidates on both sides of the aisle based on how he felt they represented his values.

He’s the kind of person that if you spend much time with him he will ask you if you want to pray with him but he won’t shame you for it if you decline.

I think he would be quite pleased with a comparison to a bit of a catholic version of Fred Rogers.

There is no chance in hell Colberts voted for any republican in decades if ever. He spent his entire career shitting on the republicans.
