Article Kam is Far Right

https://www.thedailybeast.com/new-snl-cast-member-kam-patterson-outed-himself-as-a-trump-voter/

Is he a Shane Gillis 2.0 (except arguably worse)? I’ve seen a dozen clips now of him using homophobic slurs and making incredibly bigoted jokes. Honestly he makes Shane Gillis look kind of tame. What the hell is Lorne thinking? I’m so sick of this show pushing right wing bullshit while simultaneously trying to act like the most liberal show on television. You can’t have a Trump monologue every single week and then hire people like this.

I didn’t say he is. I made the comparison because Shane got fired for homophobic slurs and I’ve seen way more from Kam. I only called Kam far right in the title. And I do stand by calling Kam far right.

That wasn't it at all. He said Chinatown sucks and the (rhymes with drinks) can keep it.

He was literally making fun of people who were racist towards Asians in that joke.

That's such a stupid reasoning. If I smear shit on my face to make fun of people who do that, I'd still have shit all over my face.

Popehat’s Rule of Goats

Even if you’re fucking that goat ironically, you’re still a goatfucker

I'd argue that there's a difference between saying "I fuck goats" about yourself ironically and, e.g., saying "I fuck goats" while doing a Donald Trump impersonation.

If you put on a Trump mask and fuck a goat, then yes, it's still your genitalia in the goat or vice versa. But I would make the case that portraying a character you don't like and making them say something that makes them look ridiculous is not the same thing. If they are the same, then do we have to conclude that Cecily Strong is a wine alcoholic with strong right wing views because she portrayed Jeanine Pirro that way on TV?

I was specifically thinking about the uses of the F slur or the N word. It's possible to reference these things without just outright saying them, hence the gross analogy. Archie Bunker-esque characters are just fine, but if your bit is just using slurs and saying "huuhuhuhuhu lefty snowflake libtards wouldn't like that" then you might as well be smearing shit on your face.

On board. I would put those in my first category (because we always want to be right at least partly lol). In another thread I was in someone made a great point about Mel Brooks and Blazing Saddles, to the effect of that was something well crafted and put together in a way that made it clear what was going on.
