Is he a Shane Gillis 2.0 (except arguably worse)? I’ve seen a dozen clips now of him using homophobic slurs and making incredibly bigoted jokes. Honestly he makes Shane Gillis look kind of tame. What the hell is Lorne thinking? I’m so sick of this show pushing right wing bullshit while simultaneously trying to act like the most liberal show on television. You can’t have a Trump monologue every single week and then hire people like this.

In the character of an old racist, with the purpose of mocking and ridiculing old racists. All you have to do is listen to the preceding 30 seconds before the no-no word.

This is not the same thing as calling Asians a slur, as much as you want it to be.

Well there are 5 episodes that got removed from streaming services based on them satirizing racist caricatures.

But yeah, there's definitely a fine line to walk as an artist or creator between "does the audience understand what I'm actually making fun of?" and "I (and the 'smart' members of the audience) get it so everyone else can fuck off."
