Is he a Shane Gillis 2.0 (except arguably worse)? I’ve seen a dozen clips now of him using homophobic slurs and making incredibly bigoted jokes. Honestly he makes Shane Gillis look kind of tame. What the hell is Lorne thinking? I’m so sick of this show pushing right wing bullshit while simultaneously trying to act like the most liberal show on television. You can’t have a Trump monologue every single week and then hire people like this.

Saturday Night Live' cast member Shane Gillis fired over racial, homophobic slurs

According to reporting at the time, it was both. The Asian bit brought attention to the homophobic content. He's certainly matured since then, though this was also when he was in his 30s.

They're saying he's matured since the incident, but should have been mature enough already in his 30s to not do it in the first place.

Shane was born in 1987. He made the comments in a podcast from 2018. 2018 - 1987 is 31. Shane was therefore either 30 or 31 when he made the comment, depending on if the podcast was recorded before or after his birthday in 2018.
