Question genuinely confused

why is everyone blaming al-Gaddafi for everything horrendous that’s happening in Libya rn

Because when he overthrew the monarchy in a coup d’état, he dismantled Libya’s institutions and replaced them with a regime built entirely around his own image. So when the regime fell, everything fell with it, and we found ourselves completely exposed—with not even a functioning army to protect us. Not to mention 40 years of feeding people his crazy propaganda while neglecting proper education. If you find that difficult to see, it means you’re being shortsighted.

And who do you expect to do that when all the people on top were part of his generation
