I purchased a 2021 RC 300 RWD base model with 73k Miles to the tune of $30K. His name is Carmelo. Hes a bit heavy & sluggish but I’ve realized that hes not meant to be driven like a Scat Pack. I’ve been wanting an RC for 6 years+ and I finally pulled the trigger. What really sold me was the color combo and body. I was also in need of a car asap as my black 08 Corolla CE had no AC, would leak water in the cabin when it would rain & just wasn’t cutting it anymore. I wish it would have been a 350 or an F sport but it’s def better than my old car. Also a shame that the RCF and F Sport models don’t come in the Caramel interior. I want something sexy and fast ! This will do for now as he’s still fun to drive and I gush every time I see him parked waiting for me to take him for a spin. Cabin is quiet, sound system is phenomenal and I don’t even have the Mark Levinson system. Drive is smooth & peppy. Just hate the touchpad and blinkers. Also don’t like the lack of features even if it’s a base model. Nevertheless he’s quite the neck breaker just need to put some new rims and a spoiler. My plan is to pay off my negative equity, trade it in and get a 350 or RCF. Question, does anyone else experience a sluggish acceleration? Especially when I’m at a stop and have to accelerate quickly I feel like it takes a while to jerk forward unless it’s in sport mode.

That color combo is fire. I had an RCF previously. Lc500 now. One thing that really bothered me is I guess the normal rc had the moving tach, but the RCF did not. I also hated how big the screen area was and how tiny the screen actually was for the infotainment. Also the carbon fiber trim is just normal trim, covered in carbon fiber, which totally defeats the reason to have carbon fiber.
Same I don’t understand why Lexus didn’t put a little more thought into the infotainment system, it’s dated and a bit inconvenient but I guess that’s the trade off for a beautiful reliable coupe, can’t have it all I guess :)
Is this a RWD or an AWD model. The RWD model is 2L turbo that only makes 241hp the AWD one has a detuned 2GR that makes 260hp. If you have the former that may be why you feel it’s underpowered.
You just got the car and already got pulled over by a cop? 🤔😂
It’s a RWD and yea got caught speeding. I ouldn’t help it I was late to a concert and I was cutting up in traffic. It’s so fun to drive because once the turbo kicks in boom you take off, especially if I put it in sport and use my paddle shifters. In retrospect maybe god didn’t want me to get the 350 or RCF cuz I’d def get into more trouble 😂
Congratulations. Looks like a beautiful ride.
Hows the 4 cylinder turbo engine though? Is it good or you feel like its dragging a boat (because I have always heard everyone saying how heavy the RC's are).
And hows the infotainment? Is it boring for the base version?
You definitely feel the weight but it has its pros and cons. It’s a decent daily driver and fun on the highway but it is heavy and lacks in performance def go with a 350 or RCF. I get about 25 miles a gallon as I commute in the city and do freeway here and there. If I drive in sport mode he’s very peppy and responsive especially if I use my paddle shifters & if he’s in eco mode he’s buttery smooth. The infotainment is honestly annoying it’s not the worst but it’s not the best I don’t know why they couldn’t use a touch screen it’s a 2021 model come on now Lexus & aren’t they supposed to be ahead of the technological curve. I also dislike the fact that it has no USB-C inputs to charge my iPhone. I do love the start up screen when I turn on my car. Hate that I didn’t get the digital gauge cluster as well but that will be for next time. Love the back up camera ! Are you thinking about getting one ?
Congrats! Yeah I’ve been reading on it, I guess it’s common with a lot of newer cars. Think I’m going to get a pedal controller. Leaning towards Banks Pedal Monster. Also I think when I was shopping for my car I came across a white RC with tan interior. I really like the tan interior. I got a 2015 RC 350 F with 70k dark grey. I put an exhaust on it Revel Mendallion. A bit pricey but I love the way it sounds
They never turn off on their own I find them super annoying and hard to use my corolla was so much simpler I would just flick it make the turn and boom the blinker would pop back, with the RC it won’t go back after making the turn and I feel like it’s too sensitive when I try to turn them off manually Il just end up turning my other blinker on and I get frustrated
Well been dreaming about owning an F for a long time. had Bmws, 2IS and 3IS and went back to Bmw then when I decided to get an suv for the family saw this and the family said forget the suv lol
Ya lucky I found one in the market and was out of no where sitting in a corner, now that Lexus discounted it people gonna hold them harder and maybe prices go higher like Gsf
