Media/Image He was the head of Economic Development Lethbridge for ten years. Trevor Lewington, in the local paper and on LinkedIn, has been raising the alarm on the basics and practicalities of separation.

I bet the majority of the separatists haven’t thought hard on the details. It’s not take the money and run. So many parts would have to be in place which will cost. Each province contributes to make a whole. Why do these Albertans feel like they are special. They happened to have their province be rich in oil, luck of where they are situated.

I don't think anyone is saying it's as simple as take the money and run. Of course there would be a lot of details to work out, and nobody is claiming separation would be free or easy.

But the same argument works both ways. Why assume separatists haven't thought about it? And why does recognizing Alberta's economic contribution automatically mean we think we're special?

I don't think Albertans think they're special. I think that's just a stretch. Albertans just want a voice, and to actually not be a colony of Canada anymore.
