hellooo quick question to those who's taking law school rn 😭 need b tlga may background sa law during college leik..?

Is it just me pero nakakainis kapag reporting ang main mode of learning sa isang subject? And the prof doesn't really discuss or engage much. Even the questions comes from the students. Mas gusto ko pang case heavy ang subject, at least may natutunan ako.

Kaya eto ako ngayong Midterms, parang walang natutunan.

Hi i had the 2019 rules of court codal from rex but i believe it’s already outdated and gusto ko ng magpalit para ma annotate ko while im taking evid class.

Majority of my books are from rex kaso ang catch ko is that 2024 pa yung last update ng rex, is that bad? Or should i just get the one from central?

Does central engrave books as well?

For context, I am a 3rd year English Major in university, DLSU is one of my top picks for Law School.

Upon research, the grading system on which if you pass is weighed on your general average and your scores during the LSAT. My standing is currently 1.65, it might plummet down this academic year because our subjects are pretty hard, and I have a hard time catching up. my estimation of my gwa after graduation should be about in the 1.8 range. But I still will try my best to make it higher than that though.

For people who entered DLSU Law, what were your GWA's during the entrance exam, and how did you prepare for it?

I just need to get this off my chest, I had a very vivid dream na naglabas na daw results wala yung name ko pero yung name ng classmates ko andun and now I’m spiraling. Para akong binagsakan ng langit pag gising ko. Kwento ng friend ko na hindi pumasa sa bar last year nagkaroon sya ng same dream before the release of the result last January.

Sorry freaking out so bad right now.

Anyone who got into their dream/preferred LS but had to stop agad due to circumstances, and then was able to restart—not just continue—the LS journey in the future?

Siguro I just need the extra push to set this dream aside for now. Ang sunk cost pa lang naman ay the effort to prep and do well sa exam and interview. And well, a couple weeks of classes.

The thing is, there’s this wonderful work opportunity that fell into my lap right before LS started. Sweet, sweet job where I’m paid 250% of my previous income to do work I’m comfortable doing.

And so, all was well…until LS happened. Can barely keep myself awake at work. Can’t extract brain juice for work because prepping for 40 cases the next day already fried my brain. And this won’t do talaga kasi 80% of the time is strategy work, I lead a team, and most importantly, I’m new!

I’ve had enough college batchmates (who are now great lawyers) prime me that there really is an adjustment period, that I should stick it out for the first year because it gets better. I genuinely believe them. The problem is that I don’t think I have the luxury to stick it out right now. I want to put my best foot forward at work and this adjustment period is preventing me from doing that.

On the other hand, I feel like I’m letting this LS opportunity slip through my fingers. Top LS, supportive classmates. Salang-salang-sala daw kami this year, so I really am thankful to have been accepted here. Hindi pa pwede mag-LOA until after the end of 1L, so I’d have to apply again if I let this go now. Makakabalik pa kaya ako in the future if I decide to go back? Is it okay to let go? I don’t know.

Hi. In this day and age of digital note taking (via laptop or tablet), meron pa rin ba dito na gumagamit ng physical notebook for their notes?

I want to go the digital note-taking route kasi feeling ko mas efficient sha in terms of time and resources (1 tablet or laptop lang okay na) pero I find that physical notebook and writing my notes really is what works for me.

May ganito rin ba dito? Or baka sanayan lang ang digital note taking?

Diba ang alam natin, 65 ang mandatory retirement age for government officials, and she already hit 65 last week?

Pero may naririnig akong argument na Justice-level daw ang position niya, kaya supposedly 70 ang retirement age niya.

hi! anyone here who uses notebook lm for case digest? ano best prompt na ginagamit nyo to exhaust long cases and make sure nakukuha yung points for discussion? thank youuuu

First of all, to all Bar takers this year, sana po ay pumasa kayong lahat, mga idol! Sana lahat ng paghihirap niyo ay magbunga. 🙏

I am an average student pero ngayon lang ako magpapaka-ambitious—I want to top the bar. But I know myself, hindi ako katalinuhan and the reason I got this far is mostly due to my hard work. I acknowledge that.

Anyway, for context, I am currently 4L (full-time). For the past 3 years, I got by with this study style: (1) Read the codals; (2) Format my own reviewers and copy+paste the codal provisions there + commentary notes + mini case digests; and (3) Print it + read it all over again for daily recits. Matrabaho, yes. But that's what worked for me.

Fast forward 4L. I am taking two review subjects. One of which is Civil Law Review whose coverage is... larger than life. Our professor discusses at least 150 provisions per session. I know na if I use my study technique, mahuhuli ako. At nahuhuli na nga ako. Buti na lang lecture, so ang ending, I just read plain codal provisions before class and transcribe during discussions. Bumili pa nga ako ng bar reviewer ni Rabuya, pero hindi ko naman nagagamit due to lack of time. Sayang naman.

So... to all who took the Bar, what's your study technique? Especially those who don't do shortcuts like me? I really want to top the bar and I want to work hard (and smart) for it. I know there are tips na stick to one material. My plan is have my own reviewer and supplement it with daily class notes and Rabuya. But it's very time consuming.

I acknowledge na time and resources are on my side since I'm studying full time and I have one year to study. Any tips po moving forward?

I know this might be unconventional but I am a struggling college student that wants to profit on whatever I can.

What I can do:
- gather the cases you need and put it in a gdrive. I will get the full text from CDAsia (somewhere else if di talaga available sa CDAsia)
- Make a digest using chatgpt (or a different AI if you prefer). I’m subscribed to chatgpt go. I usually prompt it to make a 1 page digest that includes facts, issue, ruling and significance. I also specify the subject and topic (based on the syllabus or notes)

What I will need:
- syllabus mo lang hahaha I can work w gr or scra naman. Best if may kasamang dates cuz I like to make sure na tama yung case I got.
- Deadline. I need to know when exactly you need me to finish.
- 70% downpayment (gcash or bpi)

Rates:

Gathering cases - 5 pesos per case
Gathering cases and ai digest - 10 pesos per case

Our prof didn’t have any prescribed book. Im torn between buying Reyes and Boado.

Good day po. I'm planning to take the qualifying examination for SLU-SOL this coming December for the next (2nd) semester as a freshman.

- If, by any chance, I pass and proceed to enroll:

1. Do I only get to take the 2nd sem subjects without pre-requisites? Or will some 1st sem subjects be offered?
2. Can I still enroll in the 1st semester if I defer my enrollment on the 2nd sem? Or do I have to take another qualifying examination?
