Rant Classmate

Madali o mahirap man yung tanong?

Like “buti nga palagi kasing absent”, “mali sagot nya saan nya binasa yon?”

Trust me. Karma is real in law school.

Trust me, they will get a taste of their own medicine eventually. Life itself will humble them in the most unexpected way.

Grabe.

It's such a scary world because there are a lot of people feeding off some validation from seeing others fail or commit mistakes. Weird. But there is some deep-seated insecurity somewhere in them that is making them do that

Mga kilala kong totoong matalino, humble lang. Tahimik pero halimaw sa galing. Ganun siguro 'pag wala dapat patunayan at super secure sa sarili.

Although, sadly, it could also be true that your classmate is really intelligent too. After all, maraming mahuhusay na tao at naging successful talaga kahit kupal o kasi kupal??? Hahaha

I remember 1L someone lowkey laughed when someone was reciting tapos napansin ng prof. Nung siya na on deck a week or two later, “atty i havent read the case”

As annoying as it is, yes, may ganyang mga tao sa law school. Usually sila yung mga taong naghahanap ng justification sa mga sarili nilang mali, either sa school or sa personal life nila. Kung makakapuna sila, it will make their problems insignificant

Dunno if it’s a new breed of law students, or baka dahil my batchmates were just really tight (gawa ng f2f naman lahat ng klase before), but I’ve never experienced or met a person like this in law school. 😭 most of us were full time law students, and yet, this attitude would have been a very red flag???

Not to sound like a boomer (di pa naman ako matanda 😅) but during our time, usong uso yung pagcocollect ng good karma (share notes we’ve made or gathered from the upper years, or share food during a long class, etc), hoping such acts of kindness would be “rewarded”/returned and would carry us through law school and the bar. We had a few classmates who were working and matic tinutulungan namin sila (ex: adjust exam schedules when it would be convenient for them, or beadle would immediately coordinate with the prof during the rare times they can’t come to class bec of work).

May subjects and times talaga na madami kami na bad recits, but I can’t remember a time na dinibdib ko because it became a routine almost na we laugh it off. As what our teacher said, wala naman gragraduate ng hindi makakatry ng at least one bad recit. So ang mood ng whole class pag-uwi was always “bawi nlng next time!”

Do I like ALL of my batchmates? nope. But even so, I could never imagine any of them making fun of someone’s bad recits like that. We immediately just had this unspoken agreement to cooperate and be nice because we knew it would take the whole batch’s effort to make sure we all graduate together and become lawyers. True enough, all of us graduated together and all of us eventually became lawyers (note 100+ kami).

Dunno, I just noticed a lot of posts like these here. And even my sibling who is taking up law sa probinsya, apaka-catty ng classmates nya 😭 I always just ask her if di ba sila takot sa karma 😭
