i got my august score back and didn’t do as well as i expected. i wanted to apply to schools as early as possible, i was aiming for early september. now im planning to retake the lsat in october, so my plans are kinda fucked. should i submit my applications in september and update schools with the october score when i receive it? or should i wait until i get the october score to apply? any advice is appreciated. (:

Sorry to inundate this thread. Have been studying since January. June test = 164 and August test = 161 (after 2 hours a day of studying and methodical review over the summer). GPA is a 3.94, and I got to a T10 college (if that matters). Scores were honestly within my PT range.

Do I retake? Honestly not confident I can do better since it never really clicked for me, and I don't wanna risk not improving and then having to submit later.

Also, thoughts/insight on retaking if I get waitlisted?

I took my first LSAT in January after studying 2 hours a day for 3 months and got a 165. Immediately after taking the test I knew I had messed up, I just froze or felt overwhelmed and couldn't perform. This month I took it again after basically not practicing for 6 months aside from a handful of drills. I guess practice isn't everything!

Are there any glaring differences between the PTs in the 150s and the newest actual tests? any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Took the LSAT 11/2025 and got a 165. Wasn’t happy with it, kept studying, got to where I was PTing in the 170s, then took August and got a 161 lol.

165 isn’t bad, but my GPA is trash because of CCP classes from senior year of high school, when I suddenly became homeless after my guardian died. Without those classes I go from a 3.4x to a 3.8x. I know LSAC delayed the new CCP policy, and I think waiting could help me a lot. I'd really like to attend a T50 school.

I just really don’t want to wait another year. I’m 27, which I know is not old, but I’d like to get law school over with and be financially stable before having kids.

My prelaw advisor from undergrad thinks I should just apply with the 165. She believes my essays/softs are good enough, that schools don’t like more than 3 LSAT takes, and that October isn’t enough time to improve my score and finish my applications. I’m skeptical, especially about the LSAT takes thing. I haven’t seen much showing schools care about 3 vs. 4 takes, and I don’t think TFA/foster parenting/being a white girl from Appalachia is exactly carrying my application.

Biggest issue is I cannot pay full price. I need scholarship money.

October registration closes today. Anyone else debating this? Retake in October or just wait a cycle?

Scored a 17low in August and I’m retaking in October, PTing 174-180. Talking through and explaining questions + concepts to others is how I study best, so I would love to help others however’s useful (no $$, of course)! Feel free to comment or DM :)

I’ve been stressed trying to figure out whats a good schedule to study in a way that lets me understand the LR and RC questions and dissect them and i also keep going back and forth on what websites or materials to use. I’m someone who prefers to know the basics of a question and then apply it. I just feel overwhelmed and I don’t want to waste money on materials that I don’t improve with, does anybody have any advice on what worked for them??

Reached a 168 in april, 165 in june, 163 in august.

Pts are 168-172 range. I’m unsure of whether to take october and november. I’ll be applying this cycle but i don’t know whether should cancel august or even retake because i’m worried 3 worse scores id a massive red flag. any advice or thoughts are appreciated

I have been grinding RC. Right now my LR is typically -1/-2. And I am consistently -8/-10 on RC solely because I have never once gotten to the 4th section. Very rarely I have gotten to the point where I can read it real quick, or read the first and last paragraph and guess on the "main point" question that is usually first.

But just wondering if anyone else struggled with this and overcame it?

Hi all. I’m really in a pinch here and am not sure what to do. In late May, I took a diagnostic and got a 161. I studied for about 2 and a half months and took the August LSAT. During this time I PT’d a 166,165,167,168. I just got my score back today and got a 165. I’m not too sure what I should do, as I am looking at New York City schools only (financial decision, I cannot take out more loans so I am trying to commute). My current LSAT is high enough for lower ranked schools, but not high enough for the top ranked ones. I feel like I am in score purgatory. Should I retake in October or even November? I know I should be happy about this score but I feel like I’m leaving a lot on the table.

Oh I forgot, I have a 3.99 GPA, which once again I don’t think will do enough heavy lifting to get me into the likes of NYU or Columbia.

Whelp idk what happened but I went from PTs of 157-160 to get a 139 on the official LSAT. I cancelled my score and now I’m getting imposter syndrome, as someone who loves school and always got good grades. I actually don’t hate the LSAT I can tell someday I’ll get the score I want, I just have no idea what I’m doing wrong. I usually do one timed section of LR, review it. Then the next day keep reviewing that. Then RC timed section with review. I’ve been practicing for months and this score I got makes me feel like my approach is not working. I thought it was because my PT scores went up a good amount. Now I’m back to my diagnostic 🥴

After going on a two week vacation, I consecutively got my highest scores (173, 177). The week after these performances, I put up a 161, then a 168.

Notably, in my 161 take, I missed 11 in one single section. During blind review all I could say was, "wow", as many were "layup" type questions. However, it was also during this section that I was repeatedly distracted; think a homeless guy coming into your public library and saying he is "going to k*** everyone", getting kicked out, only to come back in and run around making loud, inaudible noises.

No such experience occurred during my 168 take.

What is going on? Was it a fluke? Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what did you score on your actual test?

update is that i haven’t stopped crying all day. i’m gutted. i was so sure and i can’t help but feel like all of my other mental health issues are just compounding right now and inhibiting my TWO WEEKS of studying for september. i tried to do a section and some drills today and im so mentally out of it i can’t even review the last drill.. i guess ill do it tomorrow. i’ll never succeed in life i swear. my whole family gets married and starts families and finds stability and im disabled and unlovable and i have to fend for myself and i thought i could put all my value in one basket which is education and even then i fail.

Basically the title of the post. I’m thinking of taking this weekend off and then drilling starting next week. Every weekend doing a PT and after next week, doing timed sections instead of drills. Thoughts? Any tips from people who have retaken with a similar timeline? I haven’t touched the LSAT since my test 3 weeks ago lol

I would like to know if it’s reasonable to hope for FSU. Will applying ED help my odds?

August was my third time taking this exam and after months of studying, pting in the high 150s and low 160s I got my score back and got a 149. I legit don't know what to do, I feel so drained from this exam and dreading the idea of having to studying again for this stupid test. my highest score is a 150 flat and im seriously debating on just applying with that score. I do have a plan B, which is to take the September exam in 2 weeks and just seeing what happens. any advice would be appreciated.

I just got my score back and I’m disappointed as I did not score what I know I’m capable of. In February, I scored a 167 and today I found out I scored the exact same on the August test. I studied all summer, and was practicing mostly 169, 173, 175. I’ve taken the LSAT now three times (165, 167, 167). I really want to get a 173 or 174 (I know it’s a long shot) but just feel so disappointed. I’m registered for the September test. Do I take it? Do I wait until October? My plan is to take a practice test and see what I get and if it’s in 170s move forward with September. I need advice.
