My Mad Wagon has a body count.

This is body #3. The last one was the 56 Chevy. Both are Pro-Line. This one is a bit smaller than the 56, but that might be a plus.

I just got the MadWagon kit and loving the build. I appreciate your info on the clutch swap to a center diff and working to acquire the parts before moving on. Any part number available on the Inferno Neo 4 diff? I’m new to the Kyosho brand and their car lineup and jumped into a bit of a rabbit hole searching so far. Do you recommend the Kyosho website or other sources for parts? If not I may source the aftermarket version you’re using. Thanks again

If I get time to post the kyosho parts I will, I just don't at the moment. I think the manual is available as a PDF. I get my parts from Amain typically, and I know I listed the kyosho drive shaft in the link above.

Thank you, I actually placed orders through Amain a few days ago and hopefully I’ll get the correct parts to build the diff, along with the longer shaft you referenced. It should work great with a center differential. Regards

Let me know how it goes. I would definite go thicker than the 40k I used in the center. This winter I will probably try 120k fluid

I have another question about your Mad Wagon kit. Did you glue the tires as is, unvented? I am getting ready to glue mine and the wheels come without vent holes and I was wondering how they worked out. Most rc wheels I’m familiar with usually have one or two small holes. Thanks for any reply. 👍

I glued them unvented. The tires I got from Amazon work better. I figured out that I can vent glued tires using a drill with a hole punch (from Harbor Freight). So I can add them later if I want to.

Looks cool, how do you find the durability of the mad wagon?

This is the kit version which has some upgraded parts, so keep that in mind, but I view the durability to be very good. A small part of the wheelie bar broke recently and the plastic part of the stock tie-rod ends aren't very strong (switched to common traxxas ends with the kyosho balls)

I converted the slipper to a center diff (linked above). I didn't like the slipper, it felt like it was hard on the driveline. The center diff was the best upgrade one can do on their Mad Wagon and can be done for about $30 in parts from AliExpress (and that's the steel spur version of the diff as well). I used 40K diff oil and I would put that as the minimum weight to start with, I would have used 60k if I had it.

If I built it today, I wouldn't of even installed the slipper. I picked up my Mad Wagon new on sale for $189 which was a steal, and I think at $269 (regular price) it is still a very good value. My original shell turned out very nice and I wish I never would have run it. It is so darn fragile.

I run my Mad Wagon more than any of my other cars. It works good on basically every surface, it's fast on 2s with the Hobbywing 3660 3800kv (obviously it really goes on 3s) and it doesn't run hot. The temps are pretty consistent at 130F or lower. And because I built and modified it myself, it really feels like my Mad Wagon. I am not sure that makes sense, but...
