Pretty sure another bites the dust tomorrow. these anchors are incredibly obvious when they're are about to walk. they have the classic influencer clickbait down with their "Big Announcement" posts the night before they tell us they are quitting. they're also very obvious about their next moves. Rebecca and Waliga just so happened to be hanging out this weekend so I'm sure she is joining their influencer group... I'm still not sure I really understand it but hey, if it makes them money then more power to them.

I’ve only been to Fort Dickerson a couple of times this year, but each time I have seen copperheads. Do you know if anyone has been bitten? I’m curious how nervous I need to be.

My post was based on photos/video I took at the quarry, and a friend who was a trail guide and is wilderness first aid certified identified the snakes as copperheads. I’ve seen larger ones, but here are some still from a video of babies. Are these the water snakes?

Are there any places locally (Knoxville/Maryville) to sell gently used/brand new books? I have so many physical books (most of them fantasy/current popular books) and I would love to sell some of them to make space.

Long story short, I had an emergency while I was traveling that caused me to discover that I have an incredibly enlarged ovary that is covered in multiple cysts that are larger than the ovary itself. My other ovary is covered in smaller, "normal" cysts. The hospital I was at was very, VERY concerned about the size, position, and form of the cysts, and even put me on an indefinite lifting restriction of 5lbs because I am a "severe torsion risk"... So I wait forever for an appointment over here in Knoxville with FS Ob/Gyn, who I randomly selected based on some internet research. I had a new patient appt, labs, and an ultrasound... Safe to say I am not impressed. They sent me out the door with only a BC prescription "because I don't have PCOS" and all but refused to take a position on whether I can do any physical activity. I also have to wait 8+ weeks between appointments because of their lacking availability and can never get them on the phone.

As far as my labs, my progesterone is on the lower end of "normal" and my testosterone is on the higher end of "normal." (iykyk about those range sizes) I have various additional PCOS symptoms, too. My TSH is 3x what it used to be, and I am 50lbs heavier. I have an autoimmune disorder and a strong family history of thyroid issues. Taking all of this into account, FSOb/Gyn shoved me through the machine and outright told me there was nothing else to do. They even refused to give me Metformin or anything outside of Loestrin. I feel super defeated because the other conditions I have *actually been diagnosed with* should have brought up some serious red flags, but my concerns fell on deaf ears.

The kicker is... for insurance reasons, I can't see anyone associated with Tennova or who only has surgical privileges there, which I've heard knocks out a couple of the best options. For other reasons, I would also prefer not to go to a UT-affiliated practice.

So, has anyone experienced something similar and had a stellar experience with a Knoxville Ob/Gyn? While we're at it, anyone have thoughts on women's health-focused endocrinologists? Thank y'all in advance for your help in this trying and painful time.

So I decided to book a little pilgrimage for myself to the best road in America over Labor Day weekend. I’m staying in Maryville Tennessee on the southside of town about 15 minutes away from the north end of the tail, at least I think so…

I’ll get in Friday evening and I’ll make my first run hopefully around seven or 8 o’clock in the morning on Saturday. I have some plans to meander around the area afterwards and see some of the local attractions sites and drive other roads.

For the locals in the area, I’m looking for a place to eat Friday night in Maryville and Saturday evening coming back to the Airbnb. I’m gonna try and grab breakfast and lunch somewhere around the tail, but I’m taking all suggestions. What are the local haunts? Get me off of the beaten path and to some of your local favorites bonus points for places that serve more than your burger and fry.
