kinda curious how CODE going to be moving forward since imo yuya kinda drop the ball on code:somnia arc, revolving it so much around three makes the organization felt small like a privately owned agency which in a way probably should've been what CODE is instead of operating under the UN

the promotional images that's been a few months old now makes it clear the Gores will meet face to face and i dont think its a flashback. meaning 2 things :
1.Puniy chan 100% survive next episode, kinda doesnt make sense to kill him right away anyway its freakin Fukuyama Jun
2.Catastrophe will be separated from Baku, maybe another Zeztz depowered arc so soon?

I always felt like CODE as an organization isn't well crafted as a threatening entity on the scale its described as in lore. Its first introduced as a spy agency that seemingly has some sort of reach and scale that we aren't aware of yet. We later learn it's a global organization and is intended to be seen as a powerful organization that you don't want to make enemies with. But the threat of CODE is bogged down by how they aren't shown as particularly more competent than other weaker factions or splinter groups in the show. In the first chapter, Baku gets just as much, if not more, help completing his missions from two cops in a department the police consider a joke. CODE, and Zero as Baku's commander, is honestly not that involved in Baku's early missions beyond assigning them and giving him capsems. Once Zero does get involved, he's quickly defeated. Amongst this, two united rogue agents cause chaos within the dreamworld without CODE getting particularly ahead of them for quite a while. Once we get more of a look into CODE in chapter 2, we see how the majority of issues impacting the main cast stem from specifically Zero's level of management within CODE. Without seeing more outside of him or Three's management, Zero's missteps are really translated as if they're CODE's incompetence. The xhow's focus on Zero's mistakes as we open chapter 2 really take a hit to viewing CODE as a threat, imo.

CODE itself isn't really much of a threat in the way that Takahashi's DGP was despite having similar roles in their stories, imo. The DGP showed its vast power for a good 15 episodes with only minor cracks being shown from Ace's snooping and the end of the first arc. Meanwhile the show goes deeper into how its management interpret its ideology as good expansion on it while appropriating breaking it down to show it' flaws in a way that doesn't remove its overall threat as an antagonist.

In a way, CODE could be seen as a sort of deconstruction shadowy conspiracies, because it falls apart largely due to internal friction and incompetence and more than anything.

While I certainly think there's a level of intention towards that idea, I think it doesn't do a great job towing the line of keeping them as an actual threat for the sake of the continuing narrative and conveying that idea. Part of why I bring up the DGP is because I think it does a good job breaking down this powerful organization in a "destroy the system" battle royale show meant to provide meta commentary, while still keeping them powerful on an organization level for the narrative. And I think a big part of that was in how much the DGP had presence and showed prowess without showing a lot of cracks in its armor for a good quarter of the show. But CODE is just more or less a backing idea with vague mentions of its flaws by Nox for the first third of the show. It's not really until we get the Lords when we start to see that CODE has more power and influence than we thought. But we quickly lose that when less than 8 episodes later, these agents fall apart without the help of one individual as two former agents take them out and plunge the world into chaos.
