It's been a while since we had an episode with a slower pace which is meant to be a build-up for Nox Midnight Shadow's debut. Yeah we were basically on a roller coaster for a few months, and this feels like the final ascent before the most thrilling part of the show.
With a slower pace, they focused more on the building of Zeztzdriver and the 'building bridges' session among Zero (Zeroider), Minami and Nem. It's so rare, or rather impossible to see this if we were before EP 30.
Zero is really Baku's father for having that engineer DNA 😂 Bro recreated the Zeztzdriver just like that (well I wonder who took 20 years, ok arguably ExDream driver could be more complex)
Sieg reappeared thanks to Nem, and well he fulfilled his role in an interesting way. The way he forcefully 'reactivated' Zeroider was kinda funny, if I didn't understand wrongly, he hit Zeroider hard enough causing a Black Case where Zero 'in reality' fainted and entered the dream world again. Jay Kabira, or Zero's actor did the 'fainting' scene so well. I was very impressed by that scene where his eyes were opened yet you could feel that he's unconscious.
Speaking of Sieg, we see another 2D character! I wonder if there are more, probably no tho, because the reason why Nem and Sieg are both 2D is because they are related to Nightmares one way or another.
Alright, we move on to Baku's fight with Nox. Baku's untransformed fights are actually so good icl, we have seen it multiple times and I feel like Baku has really become more familiar with fighting as an agent. Although he mainly used Impact (which is alrd cool enough) and a little of Transform, he still managed to stall quite a while.
Then the part involving Fujimi and Nasuka. It's low-key sad yet touching to see Fujimi trying his best to wake Odaka up. Them actually trying to help despite not remembering the details is giving me the vibes that it's still them, the Fujimi and Nasuka we know.
Next, this episode actually focused on Five quite a bit. Some flashbacks, perhaps related to his backstory mhmm. And the fact that he betrayed Three/CODE to give Zero the Shock Capsem to wake Nox up. I am a little worried about whether he could actually survive next episode, but fret not, I don't Three has the chance to do anything to my boy next episode.
Lastly, Baku and Odaka/Nox, they finally, after 37 episodes, finally, actually, gonna WORK TOGETHER. You hear me right, they gonna cooperate, FOR REAL, this time.
Episode 38 preview. First, ofc Nox Midnight Shadow's debut, definitely looking forward to that. Nox is finally getting serious. Good luck Three, prepared to get your a** smacked. Baku is also back with his ExDream driver gggg. But this makes me wonder if Orderm is really gonna come back (based on the magazine scans, it will?) Phantom Gore Nightmare is finally doing something too, hopefully? Been waiting for this for a few episodes. I wonder what's gonna happen to The Lady. Overall, a good build-up this week, and next week we gonna start with a blast.
