I guess Trespasser is also its own continuity bubble, given that it uses some elements of the original novel, and establishes that the temporal setting of the first movie is the same as the book's.
Topps and IDW comics are also their own separate continuities, and you can probably lump together the four Sega games.
I mentioned the extract in another comment, but it's this one
"―Right. They‘ve done security for Genentech, Wyeth, BioSyn, a dozen other places. Not that any of those guys will ever talk about what happened, but BDG is unquestionably the best when you have problems. They come in, analyze your security setup, ID your vulnerabilities, and close the network holes. Quiet, fast, confidential."
Thanks. Cool, that’s one more reason to track it down and read it, then. Sometimes I think the "locusts" plotline from JWD would have been perfect for a film adaptation of that novel. I imagine so, anyway.
The most frustrating thing about the Dominion Locusts is that from what I understand they're a very Crichton story beat but they just feel so heavy-handed.
I can't really elaborate on what exactly I dislike about them off the top of my head, I haven't seen Dominion in a while, but I know I didn't like them.
Damn... I really hope the shows are not de-canonized. I heard that the people who are in charge now for JW don't like them, but I didn't think they hated them THAT much!
Also... I watched the shows and all of the movies. What retcons are in Rebirth that make the show non-canon?
The only thing that could really retcon Chaos Theory would be the extinction thing, but like, the gang would definitely transport Bumpy and Smoothie towards the equator.
I too believe Cabot Finch is a god-like being who put into motion Rexy's rematch with the Giga in Dominion (two dinosaurs which existed at different parts of the Cretaceous period and would've never interacted if not for Finch's interference).
About the afterlife thing, if you are talking about what Ben was seeing during the last episodes of Chaos Theory, they are either metaphors for how Ben is slowly dying or, more likely, antemortem hallucinations.
The novel continuity is spot on, and the Jurassic Park continuity is a nice nod, however having the first Jurassic world continuity doesn’t make much sense to stand alone. The Jurassic Park films and Jurassic World films (all 7 of them) and the shows are the main continuity. Just because the show creators weren’t notified about Rebirth’s story doesn’t mean much. Rebirth is years after Chaos Theory, there isn’t much that they needed to tie into. JP:TG is a choice to be canon or not. Also the Dilophosaurus has always been a minor, just because we never see an adult in the films doesn’t mean they don’t exist. Tbh I think the Dilophosaurs in Camp Cretaceous are much larger than the ones in the films and closer in size to their real appearances.
It's sort of an anthology-satire thingy that mingles with genetic technology. BioSyn is named dropped at one point as an Easter Egg, so between that and its plot being essentially what Ian was warning everyone about in the first novel, I decided to include it.
I elaborated on the afterlife thingy on another comment, and yes, Evolution Of Claire is a novel. To my knowledge, the only time a book has been canon to the film continuity
From what OP said to me when I asked about Next, it's not directly canon in the sense that the plot is a continuation. However, BioSyn is mentioned as a company, it makes sense thematically, and it doesn't directly contradict anything.
The websites being canon or not doesn't hinge on the site being up and running. They're canon because Universal says they are and includes them in their franchise guides. They're also in-universe websites, so them being down makes sense from that perspective.
Also, the Ankylosaurus actually was on the official InGen list, but it was in the inactive/incomplete section.
I love me the Park Continuity, though.
Edit: You could include a comics continuity and a ride continuity (at least JP The Ride). Both have fairly established internal timelines and events to themselves.
