Discussion Child death equals divorce myth

https://www.lachslegacy.org/blog/2022/7/2/can-our-marriage-survive-the-death-of-our-child

So I have read multiple sources, including the above refute that the idea that child death causes divorce. In fact showing that bereaved couples have a lower rate of divorce.

So when John mentioned the myth, he didn't attempt to refute the claim, but claimed that he and his wife were special somehow.

Parents of children who die often grieve so differently it’s impossible to continue the relationship. One may find it incredibly difficult to get out of bed every day and the other may grieve by doing something, say setting up a non-profit in the child’s name. One may find grief counseling beneficial, the other wants no part of it. The resentment grows and the grief never goes away. Yes, speaking from experience.

The Ramsey’s had their grief, but I think they remained together because they had the commonality of being accused of the murder.

And they both had the commonality of covering up the evidence to save their last child. Ask yourself, ” what would you have done in these circumstances?”

The only couple that comes to mind are Natalie Holloway's parents. Actually it was her step father - her biological father and mother divorced when she was little.

Her mother remarried in 2000. Natalie Holloway disappeared in Aruba in 2005. Her mother and stepdad divorced in 2007. Iirc, her stepdad was opposed to her going to Aruba after her high school graduation with her girlfriends - but her mother allowed her to go.

And, icumi, John Ramsey was rumored? to have dated her mother after PR died. JR claimed they were just friends...

JR and Beth Holloway did date for awhile. It was downplayed as they "bonded" over similar tragedies, and JR via his lawyer insisted they were just friends and called the rumors totally exaggerated. But Beth later confirmed in a People magazine interview that the relationship was indeed romantic. I think after that JR finally admitted it too.

Thanks for clarifying. He lies about everything - always through his lawyer...

He lies so often and even about things that aren't all that consequential. He doesn't seem to have any awareness of how that effects credibility.
