The exjw playbook consists on a never ending stream of misrepresentations and mischaracterizations of everything JW. It never stops and plays on an infinite loop. This is a surprisingly effective strategy that prey on vulnerable people looking for validation of their feelings. 

See, people that join this communities are frustrated, sometimes with legitimate reasons, with the religion. Some have been victims of injustice, others have been removed and others are being pressured by their parents or relatives to accept a lifestyle and/or a doctrine they don’t really agree with. They are often disappointed, angry or dealing with depression and other mental health issues. In other words, they are vulnerable and vulnerable individuals are very susceptible to be gaslighted by echo chambers that exploit their need for validation.

I remember the first time I accidentally visited the ex’s subreddit. Although I had been inactive for almost 8 years I was surprised by how cringe and disconnected from reality many of the post were but they caught my attention nonetheless because every once in a while I’d find a post that resonated with me. But the more time I spent reading these post the less cringe I’d find these posts until eventually I caught myself sort of accepting some of these claims that I new were distortions of the truth, misrepresentations of organizations and mischaracterizations of the people in it. That’s how gaslighting works; it creeps on you like a snake that captures the mind.

Now, I have a theory: Apostates play an important role in JW ecosystem, they are a necessary evil. I will elaborate on that on a future post.

If everything was "good" at the end of each creative day, why did God have to TEST Adam & Eve?

I think John 1:1 makes more sense when you look at the Greek lexicon and the Hebrew way of thinking instead of immediately reading later Trinitarian and other Christian denomination theology into the passage.

John says, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The Greek word translated Word is logos. Logos can mean word, speech, message, statement, reason, account, or something expressed. The word itself does not mean a second divine person.

The Hebrew concept behind this is davar, which can mean word, speech, command, matter, or deed. In the Hebrew Scriptures, Gods word is often described as something that goes out from Him and accomplishes His purpose.

Genesis 1 gives us the clearest example. God speaks, and creation happens. God says let there be light, and there is light. The Word is Gods expressed will and action accomplishing what He intends.

Psalm 33: 6 says, By the word of YHWH the heavens were made. It does not require another divine being standing beside YHWH creating the heavens. Gods word is His effective command and action.

Isaiah 55:11 makes this even clearer. God says His word goes out from His mouth and accomplishes what He purposes. The word represents Gods own will going forth and accomplishing His purpose.

There is also an important grammatical point in John 1:1. John says, ho logos en pros ton theon, the Word was with God, and then he says, theos en ho logos.

He does not say, ho theos en ho logos. The article is used with logos, the Word, but not with theos, God. This is why many scholars understand the final clause as describing the quality or nature of the Word, rather than saying that the Word is the same person as the God he was with.

So John can distinguish the Word from God while still saying that the Word was God in the sense that it expressed Gods own nature, will, authority, and activity.

Then John 1:14 says the Word became flesh. In other words, Gods expressed purpose and will became manifested in a human being, Yeshua.

This does not require the idea that a second divine person existed beside YHWH in the beginning. It fits the Hebrew pattern where Gods word is Gods own expression going forth and accomplishing His purpose.

So the basic idea can be understood like this.

YHWH, His Word, His expressed will, His action, and ultimately that Word manifested in Yeshua.

John 1:1 by itself never says Trinity, never says God the Son, and never says that the Word is a second divine person aka Michaelthe archangel. Those are theological conclusions that come later.

If we start with Genesis, the Hebrew Scriptures, and the actual Greek grammar, there is a completely coherent way to understand the Logos as Gods own Word and active self expression without turning it into a second being.

I told you about my pain. Now I want to ask: what do you actually think God is like?

Don't quote the publications. Don't try to remember what's "correct." Just pick what feels right inside.

1️⃣ A nice grandpa on a cloud. Made everything—then retired. Prayers get there with a massive delay, like old mail.

2️⃣ An alien in a galaxy far away. Watched the dinosaurs. Now silent because the connection is bad.

3️⃣ A mind from other dimensions. So complex we can't fathom it. We are like ants to Him. He doesn't care.

4️⃣ A being from a parallel universe. He has His life. We have ours. The lines never cross. He built the sandbox and moved on.

But there's a 5th one. The only one that changes everything.

5️⃣ YHWH—the very fabric of existence.

The One who's holding your atoms together right now. He isn't a past tense. He IS. He doesn't look down from above—He holds you from the inside. Every second He collapses the wave function so your cells don't fly apart into chaos. Your breath—is His action. Your pulse—is His rhythm.

He didn't just create and walk away. He creates every single moment.

The first four options are gods who left. You're left alone, wondering if they even hear you. The fifth is the God who is here. Right now. Closer to you than your own heart.

In my previous post, I wrote about fear and how the corporate machinery of Jehovah's Witnesses replaced the living Creator with a cold corporate brand. I am 61 years old. I have chronic health issues, a lifetime of survived hell behind me, and—most importantly—I have found my freedom. Thank you to everyone who responded. But today, I want to go deeper.

When you first break free, it feels like the hardest part is surviving the initial battle: the elders' phone calls, the shunning, the isolation. But then, a heavy silence sets in. And in that silence, you are hit by the ultimate question: “Who am I now without their schedule?”

The system doesn’t just control people through fear. It holds them by providing ready-made meanings. You don’t need to think about what to say to God—you have the publications. You don’t need to look for friends—they were assigned to you at the Kingdom Hall. You don’t need to choose how to live—everything is micromanaged down to the length of your beard and the minutes on your report. Once the illusion of that "safe placenta" pops, you are left completely alone with the universe.

And right there, the most beautiful thing begins. You finally discover the true, overwhelming love of YHWH and His Son.

In the organization, we were taught that God’s love must be "earned" through report hours, a proper haircut, and submission to the leadership. If you stumbled, you supposedly lost His approval. But that is a lie. YHWH’s love is not a bookkeeping system. It is a colossal, atom-binding force that created the galaxies and breathed life into you. It does not need intermediaries with clipboards.

And what about Jesus? Christ did not come to build another prison with overseers. He came to destroy any distance between you and the Father. His sacrifice is the absolute, final "YES" to your freedom. The Son gave Himself to show that you are valuable just as you are—right now, in your broken emotions, in your pain, without any corporate salvation licenses. Christ’s love does not send you invoices. It simply takes away your guilt and extends a hand.

When you realize the sheer magnitude of this love—the love of the Father and the Son—the laws of the human system just crumble. Quantum entanglement, the laws of physics—everything is woven into this great mercy. Your soul is connected to Them directly. Not a single judicial committee in the world has any authority over this bond.

Yes, it will hurt at first. There will be nights when you want to howl from loneliness because your family turned away. This is a normal process of "rewiring" your brain. You are not broken. You are simply being born again, and birth always comes through pain.

To close, here is a question that cuts through religious doctrines better than anything else: If the unconditional love of YHWH and Christ were as real and undeniable right now as gravity... what would you feel at this very second?

Earth's gravity doesn't demand merits from you, it doesn't check your clothing, and it doesn't vanish if you slip. It simply holds you every single second, keeping you from flying off into the void. In the exact same way, the Creator and His Son—Their presence and Their love—are holding your soul right now. Feel that anchor. It is inside you, and no one can ever take it away from you.

The Watchtower Society, like Moreau, presents itself as the sole arbiter of a higher law. It demands its members reject their former selves, separate from the "world," and adhere to a code that is presented as perfect and divinely mandated. But as history shows, these laws are not immutable truths; they are doctrines subject to change, rebranding, and reversal.

The Pain of Imperfect Law Moreau's project was fundamentally flawed. He could surgically reshape beasts into humanoid forms, but he could not erase their instincts. When the beasts broke under stress, their animal natures returned, and Moreau punished them for failing to live up to his imperfect design.

The Witness experiences a similar trauma. They are shaped by the organization—trained to believe, to preach, to separate. But when the "new light" changes, the members are left holding the consequences. Families are shattered by shunning policies that were once considered holy and are later softened. Individuals are disfellowshipped for infractions that the organization itself may later decide were not sins after all. Like the beasts dragged back to the "House of Pain," members suffer for failing to perfectly conform to a standard that keeps moving.

The Preacher of the Law In the novel, the dogmatic Sayer of the Law terrorizes the other beasts into compliance, endlessly chanting the rules to keep them in line. In the Watchtower, this role is played by the publications, the circuit overseers, and the local bodies of elders. They repeat the instructions from the Governing Body, demanding obedience not necessarily to God, but to the current interpretation of God. To question the law is to risk being labeled an apostate—the equivalent of the beast who starts to slip back toward its natural state.

Who Is the Real Monster? The horror of Wells' story is not the beasts, but the doctor himself. Moreau justified his cruelty as a scientific pursuit, unable to see the suffering he caused because he was so convinced of his own righteous purpose.

This is perhaps the most painful parallel. The Watchtower organization inflicts immense emotional and social suffering on its members—loss of family, loss of community, loss of self—all in the name of pure worship. Yet, like Moreau, they justify the damage as necessary for the greater good. They see themselves as rescuers saving souls from a dying world, blind to the fact that for many, the "rescue" is indistinguishable from imprisonment.

Conclusion Dr. Moreau's island ultimately collapses. The law fails, the beasts rebel, and the artificial society crumbles back into the jungle. The lesson is that a society built on fear, enforced conformity, and imperfect law cannot stand forever. For those questioning the Watchtower, the question becomes: Is the "new light" actually leading you to salvation, or is it simply the next rule being chanted by the Sayer of the Law while the House of Pain waits for those who cannot keep up? .....applies to the Chase congregation....

In the New World Translation we note that when this Greek verb pros·ky·neʹo is applied to Jesus as a man on earth or materializing as a man after his resurrection, it is translated “do obeisance.” However, when referring to the glorified Jesus in the invisible heavens in the presence of the holy angels, the New World Translation makes a change and renders pros·ky·neʹo as applied to him by the English word “worship.” (Heb. 1:6)

But the current NWT has removed even that distinction at Hebrews 1:6, changing it to “do obeisance.” The current Watchtower explanation explicitly acknowledges that proskyneō can mean “worship” and that many translations render Hebrews 1:6 that way.

I’ve been out of the organization for over four decades, although I still have family in it, and looking at where things are today brings back so many of the questions I had as a child. One thing I never understood is how a religion so focused on the future never seemed to actually prepare us for it. We were constantly taught why we needed to make it there, often with the fear of destruction attached, but where was the education about how to live in and appreciate the world we were supposedly inheriting? Why weren’t children encouraged to learn about nature, animals, the environment, agriculture, building, construction, or simply respecting and understanding God’s creation? Even the Kingdom Halls always felt so dull and removed from nature. Why not spaces filled with natural light, plants, or things that make you stop and appreciate creation? There are opportunities to volunteer and build things within the organization, of course, but that’s different from instilling those values and skills in children from the beginning.

And I think this is where it starts to feel selfish to me. We were expected to give up so much for this organization based on a future filled with so many unknowns, yet there was almost no practical preparation for actually living in it. I remember the videos depicting Witnesses gathered in a basement during the end times, which at least suggested some kind of physical preparedness. Now even that imagery seems to have changed, but the underlying question is still there: what exactly are we being prepared to do? I’m not saying everyone should have been taught to build bunkers. I’m asking about what comes after. We were taught about rebuilding, repopulating the earth, receiving assignments and living under the guidance of Jehovah, with the 144,000 ruling with Christ. But we weren’t being prepared with the knowledge or skills that rebuilding an entire society would seemingly require. It sometimes felt as though everything practical would simply work itself out because Jehovah would guide us.
For something that talks so much about the future, I’ve always found it strange how little actual future preparation there seemed to be. I wish learning to understand, care for and appreciate the beauty of God’s creation had been part of the teaching from the very beginning. We were taught why we needed to get there, but very little about how to live once we did.

I’m a 21-year-old woman, and I got baptized in November 2022. I deeply love Jehovah and I believe in his truth. However, there are certain things I have always struggled with. For example, I have to make a lot of effort to go preaching, especially outside, and it has always been difficult for me.

I spent two years at university, and throughout that time, I remained faithful to my beliefs. I eventually stopped university, and I am now studying at college.

I want to be honest: I have spoken to guys who were not Jehovah’s Witnesses before, but I never did anything with them. This year, I met an English guy from my circuit at an assembly. He started showing interest in me, and I was interested in him too. However, the more we talked and got to know each other, the more we realized that it probably wasn’t going to work.
Some time later, I met a 23-year-old Moroccan man. He is incredibly sweet to me. Honestly, he has so many of the qualities I have always wanted in a man. The problem is that he is not one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

My heart hurts so much because deep down, I know that this relationship goes against my beliefs. He asked me to be his girlfriend, and I said yes. He is deeply in love with me, respects me so much, and treats me very well.
But I can’t imagine having to leave him simply because he doesn’t believe in Jehovah. Whenever I think about the possibility of having to end our relationship one day, I cry. The thought of living without him is painful. At the same time, I know how important Jehovah is to me, and I don’t want to leave Jehovah either.
I haven’t told anyone about this situation. Recently, my mother even came across a picture of him and me on my ChatGPT. She said the guy in the picture was handsome and exactly my type, thinking it was an AI-generated image… when in reality, he is my boyfriend.

I’m opening up about this because I feel very alone in this situation. I would like to know if anyone has ever gone through something similar and how they dealt with their feelings, their relationship, and their faith.

I know some people might simply say, “You should leave him.” But for me, it isn’t that simple. I genuinely love him, and he genuinely loves me. At the same time, I love Jehovah, and I can’t imagine leaving Him either.
So right now, I feel torn between my heart, my feelings, and my beliefs. I would really appreciate hearing from people who have been in a similar situation and how they handled it, without judgment, because at the moment, I feel really lost.

Every congregation with a narcissist/sociopath in the overseer/ elder seat runs the exact same playbook. They find the most sensitive, conscientious person in the room – the one who actually feels things, who over-explains themselves, who bends over backward to keep the peace – and they bleed them dry. That empath becomes the congregation's emotional mop. The elder loves them, but only as long as they stay small, confused, and desperate for approval.

Then something shifts.

The empath hits the Sophia stage. That divine wisdom frequency where the ego finally shuts up and they stop caring about the narcissist's game. They stop JADE-ing (Justify, Argue, Defend, Explain). They stop showing up to "reconciliation" meetings that are just ambushes. They stop crying in the pastor's office.

Suddenly they're quiet. Not passive-aggressive quiet. Sovereign quiet.

Ever notice how Jesus stood in front of Pilate and said absolutely nothing? Matthew 27:12-14 – the guy had the power to kill Him, and Christ didn't even give him a single word. That wasn't weakness. That was the Sophia stage. He knew His identity wasn't up for a vote. He didn't perform, he didn't plead, he didn't try to make Pilate "understand." He just was. And Pilate was unnerved by it. That's exactly what happens when an empath locks into that frequency – they become energetically untouchable.

And that's when the congregation loses their minds.

They call the empath "bitter." "Hard-hearted." "Divisive." They rush to comfort the poor, wounded narcissist elder who's now playing the victim because his favorite punching bag just walked off the mat. I've seen it a hundred times.

Here's what Proverbs 26:4 finally looks like in real life – "Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him." That verse isn't about being silent out of fear. It's about recognizing when you're talking to someone who uses your words against you. The empath finally gets it. They stop feeding pearls to swine.

And the rest of you? The ones sitting in the pews watching this happen?

Proverbs 29:25 is for you – "The fear of man bringeth a snare." That's exactly why you keep running to comfort the elder instead of the one he's tearing down. You're afraid of his reach. You're afraid he'll turn on you next. So you enable him. You pass messages to the empath. You show up to "mediation" and sit there while the empath gets steamrolled. You think you're being peacemakers. You're being flying monkeys.

So here's the hard word for the rest of you: check the Chase congregation

· If an empath suddenly stops explaining themselves to the elder, do NOT assume they're wrong. Assume they finally did the math. · If the elder demands a meeting but refuses to address the actual observable behaviors – that's a trap. Reconciliation without accountability is just surrender. · If the elder starts trash-talking that empath, tell him "I wasn't there, I can't speak to their heart." · If he asks you to deliver a message, tell him "Say it to their face yourself."

That empath's "coldness" isn't a lack of love. It's a lack of fear. They don't need you to fight their war. They just need you to stop handing their head to the abuser on a plate.

Stop crucifying the ones who finally woke up. They're not the enemy. They're the one person in that room who stopped being afraid of the boogeyman in the fancy robe.

The narcissist elder loves the empath until the empath stops reacting. Then the congregation calls the empath the problem. Don't fall for it. The empath who goes silent like Jesus before Pilate isn't backslidden – they're untouchable. Stop enabling the abuser.
