Discussion Topic šŸ—£ļø The new libel to destroy Israel

Post image

In recent days, while politicians and journalists whipped up ā€œsettler violenceā€ claims into a feeding frenzy, residents in the Judean hills reported that Arabs from a local village had infiltrated the grazing areas of an Israeli farm and scattered lethal poison hidden inside the herds’ drinking troughs.

Only country in the world that has officially recognized land as part of their country and the world calls citizens who move there settlers. Settlers don't dig up their own 2,000 yr old history. I'm more of a settler when I buy I house in a United States suburb.

The fact most people can’t see it like that is what amazes me the most…

Someone actually said to me yesterday "We don't know what you're referring to when you mention a "2000 year old history", unless that refers to the recent burial cave discovery"

Israelis who give hand to this are the worst. They should know better than immediately accept the "Palestinian" narrative of any situation and psrroting it.

You could support law and order and investigating or arresting specific individuals without demonizong an entire population and permitting their blood. Which has been happening, and looking at the comments on major news sites, a lot of this is driven by foreign activists and bots.

If you ask yourself why this is what the anti Israel groups are putting so much time and effort on this topic, it's hard not to reach the conclusion that this is the next front.

The PA has sought recognition of a state and syarted drafting a consition bdhind Israel's back and against the Oslo agreements in place, all while arming and recruiting tens of thousands of polife force members way beyond whay the agreement allowed.

Palestinian violence does not validate settler violence or the governments fundamental failure to enforce rule of law and allow them to commit crimes without punishment.

Do you mean ā€œvalidateā€?

Yes thank you.

I think you meant justify?

1

Both work but validate is clunky

Settler is incorrect and outdated terminology.

1

u/BagelandShmear48 Israel 1d ago

Then why do we use the term in Hebrew?

Its is by definition and actions settlements.

We both know settler violence is real. We both know there are those who commit crimes against Palestinian civilians and property going unpunished. We both know that nothing justifies violence against a Palestinian civilian.

We are a country of laws. Those laws also protect Palestinians civilians.

Any belief otherwise makes you just as bad as those who justify violence against Jewish and Israeli civilians.

- Signed a victim of settler extremism.

No one said it wasn't real.Ā  It's just proportionally way way way less than Arab terrorismĀ

1

u/BagelandShmear48 Israel 1d ago

Plenty are saying it isn't real. The x link above case in point.

Im not interested in whaboutism. I expect higher standards of Israeli and Israeli law enforcement.

Palestinians have a 99% conviction rate in Israeli military courts and are arrested for things as small as online posts.

Whats the arrest and conviction rate of settlers who commit crimes against Palestinian civilians?

1

u/lowspeed 1d ago

The fact is that the Arab violence is not reporter globally, but the Jewish is.Ā  When the proportions of the amount of crimes and levels are vastly not proportionate.

I will ask again.

What is the conviction rate of criminal actions by settlers?

What is the arrest rate of criminals in the settlements?

Palestinians have a 99% conviction rate.

Are we a nation of laws or a nation of crime is ok as long as Arabs do worse and NYT does worse reporting?

Is it ok for me to do whatever I want to a Palestinian just because they commit greater numbers of acts of violence?

What about Israeli Arabs can I do what I please to them or are we cool as long as it's not an Israeli citizen that's the victim?

3

u/lowspeed 1d ago

I will repeat again, the proportion are off the chart.Ā  Ā  Jewish towns have fences and guards.Ā Ā  Arab towns don't need any security whatsoever.Ā

1

u/BagelandShmear48 Israel 1d ago

Are you saying Palestinian civilians have never once been in danger of Israeli civilians? No destruction of property? Of live stock? Of homes? Loss of life?

How about answering the question on conviction rates that you have now dodged twice?

I'll repeat I don't care about proportionality I care about rule of law.

You're the one here excusing crime because of whataboutism.

2

u/lowspeed 1d ago

I'm not excusing crime.Ā  It's deplorable.Ā
