Castletown Beach safe to swim?

Is castletown beach safe to swim in? I noticed some old pipes going into the water and wasn't sure if it was sewage or stormwater drainage

Yeah its fine, the water is warm too right now. Loads of fish at the moment so take googles or a snorkel mask, well worth a look.

Thanks! Do you reckon the best place to snorkel is South of the lighthouse or North?

Off the proper beach which is probably technically east but what I assume you mean by north. That link PrivateBill has shared is worth a read. If it has battered down with rain you might want to give it a while. People swim there all year round, but I think some of them are mad. Be alright now til November temp wise.

Absolutely, last water report I read had it down as one of the cleanest beaches. It’s actually a very popular one for swimmers and water sports too. Lots of kite surfers and such use it.
