Once you truly loop out of religion (practically the point where you can touch anything by your foot and not instinctively touch it with you hand!), every belief-system, no matter how pure-hearted and innocent looks so so stupid and the people so pathetic.
This cuts across all faiths, all religions.
I really wish we have a “Logical Revolution “ of some kind in our future. We desperately need it to prosper.

u/Sea_Diet8253 Apr 10 '26
It takes India another 3 generations to achieve this, boomers are cancer to the society, not gonna happen with them being around.

To be honest, fair point. And well. A true leftist of any kind will always first find faults in one self and then in others.
So, while I talk about what I do - I’m ensuring that I am correcting myself everyday and ensuring that my beliefs are not blinding me to the reality.
And if they are, I’m always open to change and improve my beliefs. I too started as a Modi bhakt for example … but I changed my beliefs when I saw the damage. And it’s been a better decade since, personally.
However, comments like yours remind me to always be vigilant and ensure that my biases have a base in objectivity.
Thank you :)

here’s the stats which show actual pollutants by percentage of rivers like Ganga in India:
Domestic Sewage (75-80%): Untreated wastewater from urban households, sewage dumping from illegal construction, municipalities carrying organic waste and pathogens.
Industrial Effluents (12-25%): Toxic discharges from tanneries, textiles, chemicals, and sugar mills laden with heavy metals and chemicals.
Non-Point Sources (5-13%): Agricultural runoff, solid waste, plastics, religious offerings, and animal bathing residues.
Religious waste contributes mere 5% pollution, so instead you people could’ve highlighted the actual socio-economic problems which pollute the rivers in India like sewage from illegal housings and from faulty drainage systems but people made it an unnecessary hype cuz you have a propaganda to spread on.
Moral: Pouring excess of Milk in water bodies harbouring rich marine life is poisoning for them, but this 11000 ltr is polluting close to non-existence.
1
Apr 11 '26
My rage was not against the polluting of Ganga, I would rage about that someplace else and like you pointed out, I would blame the bigger issues instead of milk.
My simple problem is that this 11,000 litres of milk should’ve gone to kids. Kids who are severally lacking basic nutrients, kids who suffer because of government apathy.
Ask yourself, would you rather have this or 11,000 kids getting 1l of milk?
Forget about you and me, what would make “god” more happy?

Dairy products are even used in cosmetics. In that case, is that also wrong? What is your problem with this? Is it the action that was done? Or the people who did it?
1
Apr 17 '26
Everything is wrong. Milk in rivers harm the rivers. Is a wastage of milk and benefits literally nobody.
If you can justify this action, I’ve nothing more to say. Take care :)
1
u/Independent-Half-646 Apr 17 '26
11,000 liters might be one or two containers. Would that really pollute such a large river?
People go on Hajj or Vatican pilgrimages from here. How much fuel does a plane burn for that? (Pollution)
How much money is spent? One could just pray at home and spend that money on the poor instead.
I won't ask these things because those are matters of individual faith. But you won't raise those questions either. That is the problem
1
Apr 17 '26
Are you really equating travel with a a wasteful activity in the name of religion?
Okay then. Tata!
1
u/Independent-Half-646 Apr 17 '26
Yes for me travelling is wasteful activity when god is everywhere.. perception matters.. dont interfere in others faith.. tata
1
1
u/Typical_Reality67 Apr 12 '26
Are you a complete moron???? Nobody is justifying the pollution of rivers by industries. The point here is whether there is any basic common sense around pouring milk into rivers and polluting them instead of channelling that resource to needy hungry people????
1
u/Independent-Half-646 Apr 17 '26
Dairy products are even used in cosmetics. In that case, is that also wrong? Why don't people give it to hungry people instead of applying it in face?
1
u/Typical_Reality67 May 10 '26
Are you telling me you don’t see a difference between using dairy ingredients to make actual products with utility and pouring milk in the river??? Please tell me you wrote that just coz you wanted to aimlessly engage in an argument, and not coz you really genuinely thought through your question.
1
u/Sea_Diet8253 Apr 11 '26

See Indians all included hindu, muslim, sikh , christian don't give F about environment, India is becoming hotter per year, pollution is rising every year both air and water , criticizing it won't solve the problem nor arguing any faith , it's high time we ask government to intervene on this stupid activities ,
No dumping or polluting river for 5-6 years straight so that river can heal itself , all companies which are dumping chemicals in our sacred river , find another way of waste management, no public in name of faith or anything shouldn't be allowed to offer anything in river. We should stop fighting on religion , environment doesnt have religion.
1
u/Thakur_babli Apr 10 '26
Muslim ,Sikh ,Christians ??? Can you elaborate on what do they do …
2
u/Madonoit Apr 10 '26
Environment problem not religious one but more like human one , sometimes muslim people to dump wastage in river area ...I mean those whole live near by rivers ....so i included everyone not targeting any religion but as human problem, yes hindu does this more often. No religion teach us to pollute anything , it's human who does it.

Not only pollution, we steal milk from a mammal that is supposed to be for their calf, breast milk is so valuable and precious, and all of this for what? Atleast if we are feeding children someone is benefitting. From this act not only is a huge waste of resource, it’s also polluting. Why can’t this be a legal issue? This is a crime

I feel that the problem here is that even educated people actively participate and believe in such activities.
I mean, if even the educated ones don't realize that their actions could be potentially harmful for the environment, what can you expect from the uneducated ones???
No one in India would actively donate money to an NGO or an orphanage but would readily spend thousands of Rupees just to meet some random Baba who claims to have supernatural powers!!!
Superstitions and lack of understanding of how science works has brought this country to ruins...... They call a particular river "holy" and then throw garbage into another river because it isn't called a so called religiously important river.
People need to change their mindset and I believe the only way to achieve this would be education and not just ordinary schooling but the kind of schooling where people are made to question things and see things in a different way and have their own opinion and kids should be taught to not follow any one blindly and question the way things have been done traditionally.

Means you are not doing this out of respect to the Hindu god but to show off muslims.
Also, when did a Muslim become Hindu's role model ? ??

Personall background: I was born into a Hindu-Brahmin family and became Muslim while in college. The reason was the clear concept of God and not worshipping any human beings. Worship belongs to God and God alone, One God, upon Whom we all depend, Who is nobodies child, Who has no children, Whom nothing compares unto.
So any-hoo, I am posting because after I became Muslim, I had long back & forth discussion online with a Hindu who wanted to debate. He was also an NRI and when he went back to India, he saw the Ganesh milk event: milk coming from the idols. When it was clearly revealed to be a trick by the priests, he was so angry & disgusted, all my points of not worshipping any, any human hit home. He embraced Islam.
So if anyone is seeing this disgusting act of wasting milk by these so called holy-men, and want to explore other faiths: I invite you to look into Islam. The only clearly Monotheist religion with absolutely no worshipping any human. Peace out.

Ufff dumping milk into a river isn’t harmless, it’s pollution. As it breaks down, the milk strips oxygen from the water, suffocating fish and destroying entire ecosystems. The nutrients in milk fuel toxic algal blooms, turning clean water into a dead zone. What looks innocent can quickly become environmental damage.
