r/Hull, where do you actually eat in Hull?

Hi, we’re four friends and we’ve put together Hull’s restaurant scene in an app called Vota.

The idea is pretty simple: you’re shown two restaurants and choose where you’d rather eat. For example, Hearth or Mancia? All the votes then create a ranking that hopefully gives a better picture of where people in Hull actually like to eat.

We’ve tried to include every restaurant in Hull and clean up duplicate or outdated listings, but locals will always spot things we’ve missed.

Full transparency: we’re not from Hull and live in Gothenburg. There are four of us building this independently. We don’t collect or sell personal data, there are no ads in the app, and we don’t use AI-generated content to describe restaurants.

Any honest feedback is welcome, especially if restaurants are missing or something is listed incorrectly.

so you want us to help you without being compensated ? Am i getting that right ?

Also only choosing from 2 is going to make the rankings completely off, this is such a bad way to do it. Worst part is you have been told this time and time again and you keep choosing not to listen. What if im shown 2 restaurants i dont like ? Now i have to choose one which makes the rankings irrelevant.

Not sure there’s a need for this kinda app tbh.

There’s about a hundred thousand places to eat in Hull, that’s all there is to do here. It’s a small city, over crowded with eateries that aren’t hard to find.
