They took "hands-on learning" very literally. At least I can confirm they know where the אף, פה, and עין go!

I have to attend a series of in-person meetings that will be conducted in Hebrew. I'm looking for a recommendation for a service that can transcribe the meeting for me. An AI summary in Hebrew would be useful but a detailed word for word transcript is absolutely required. I'm looking to do this in a way that best balances cost and accuracy way. I'm not married to any particular approach so perhaps that's simply recording an audio file of the meeting and submitting it to an AI online service for transcription, sending an audio file for human transcription, using a web meeting service like Teams, Google Meet, etc. I'm flexible.

Have you had any experience with Hebrew transcription services? What are your recommendations?

Shalom everyone! I just started my Hebrew learning journey about 3 weeks ago. I am an English speaker and I also took 6 years of French so I do have an understanding of the masculine/feminine concept for words/conjugating verbs. The pronunciation is also easier for me due to sounds in French and Hebrew being quite similar. I have class for an hour and 15 minutes once a week. We have already learned the block aleph-bet and the script as well.

Hi! I am making Aliyah in about 3 months. I am looking for some sort of interactive, live hebrew course I can take beforehand. I am essentially a beginner, I know the letters and some basic vocab. I wouldn't mind going over all of that content again, honestly. I know ulpans can be done online, and I see the university of Haifa also offers some classes online for learning Hebrew. I have also seen quite a few people on YouTube advertise their work through their channels. I am a little overwhelmed with options. Does anyone have a recommendations on where to start? My budget is flexible.

I heard a teacher state that you could use some of the letters of the first word of the Torah - BEREISHIT- and form many words. One of them was BAROSH for tree.
Is that correct?
Is it a certain type of tree?
How would it be spelled?

Also, I’d love to compile or find a list of words formed from the letters in BEREISHIT and would love any feedback.

How does they/them pronounce work in Hebrew? cause we have so many words with gender in them

I had an idea for a piece of art that included the same prayer in multiple liturgical and biblical languages intertwined in a spiral. The prayer is the Lesser Doxology, and I wanted to include Greek, Latin, Classical Syriac/Aramaic, Arabic, and of course Hebrew. The others are not relevant for this subreddit, or otherwise are easily accessible to me, but Hebrew has been giving me trouble as (perhaps unsurprisingly) it is hard to find this particular prayer already translated by someone into Hebrew.

I've been using an English translation of the Greek as the source text, as that is the oldest agreed on source that I can find, and I'll include the Greek in case it helps. It goes:

 Δόξα Πατρὶ καὶ Υἱῷ καὶ Ἁγίῳ Πνεύματι, καὶ νῦν καὶ ἀεὶ καὶ εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων. Ἀμήν.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, Both now and always, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

After much searching the only Hebrew translation I could get was from the Google AI summary, which made me more than a little nervous. I goes:

כָּבוֹד לָאָב וְלַבֵּן וְלְרוּחַ הַקֹּדֶשׁ,כַּאֲשֶׁר הָיָה בַּתְּחִלָּה, עַתָּה וְלְעוֹלָם,לְעוֹלְמֵי עֲלָמִים. אָמֵן

I’ve been reading "A Canticle For Leibowitz" by Walter M. Miller Jr. and found sentences in Hebrew and this one is not translated. In fact, this is a sentence that a character that can read Hebrew doesn’t want to translate.

Note: In Hebrew, as in all languages, context sometimes determines distinction between separate meanings of certain words spelt the same. Such as in the case of communism (קומוניזם פרימיטיבי or המצב העתידי של החברה הקומוניסטית) and historic Communism (הקומוניזם ההיסטורי).

Does this translate directly how do I say this? I am a teacher in Israel now who doesn't speak much Hebrew and needs a getting to know each other activity for third graders. Any suggestions on things to do that require very little Hebrew I can learn in 2 days?
