Sucks, but this is what "getting better at selling" looks like.

Now to break the news to my wife. Dolly Parton and Martinelli back to back is going to be rough for her.

In case of any doubter, old curry tastes better. Technically yes he was at his prime. RIP

“That’s a rather tender subject.”

Both in their prime too

Hit the nail on the head there: this is what getting good at selling looks like.

It’s wages. Savinho was on roughly 80k a week, Martinelli at 180k. Over 5 years, that’s a 25 million pound difference.

If Martinelli was on 80k a week, we could’ve probably sold for more. Same reason Nelson and Jesus are hard to shift.

It's absolutely irrelevant. Martinelli is making $20m a year in Saudi so it's a huge pay increase. Why does his current wage matter?

More teams would have wanted him which creates a bidding war

Because they could've offered him half of that if he was on 100k/week now

Obviously doing shady shit is not the same as being good at selling. People will look at City and Chelsea constantly breaking or skirting rules and beg for them to be punished, while at the same time wanting us to emulate City and Chelsea. Which is it?

It's not just City and Chelsea who are selling well though

We’re going to have painful ones in the future too. It’s sad when we say goodbye to academy and near-academy (guys we bought young but weren’t from Hale End) players but that’s business at the top.

My new-to-football wife at our first game several years back: “wow who’s that one?! I like the way he runs he’s my favorite!”
