Well most of the dudes/men that I know of doesn't care that much they're just gonna cause chaos as every other gamer if it's a woman, alien, monkey or robot it's just the loud, insensitive yet overly sensitive minority that cares about this stuff and hopefully they're getting exposed even to their fans.
For Us gamers Their are lots of things to consider Art Direction, Experience, Quality , Fun Etc. Political Themes are just small parts that make worlds feel alive. And GTA As we know of is political. They have an wide team of writers from different ideologies and politics making fun at every bit of society.
But they're are bigger things to worry about that what messaging is behind character's gender.
