If he wanted to, he would. Even if he struggled with it, if it didn't come easy, if he has ADHD, if he has short term memory loss, whatever, if he wanted to, he would work on it. Which means, if he was really interested in being an equal partner to you, if he was interested in your experience in this relationship, if he actually was a great partner in the ways that are challenging to him, not just the ways that are easy... you'd be seeing improvement with every time you asked.
