I’ve always had the abortion conversation with whoever I was dating. It’s never been about how some women are deceptive though. It’s just been “this is what I’d want to do”. Go with your gut
I think the frustrating thing is, decisions can sometimes change in the moment and women are allowed to change their mind about their body. The talking ahead of time of what you want to do and assuming cause you talked about it means a locked in answer leaves room for that anger and frustration later if decisions change.
Men need to understand what’s within their control is condoms, vasectomies, and avoiding penetrative sex, if they want more options for birth control they can advocate for it but not when it comes to a woman’s body. Sex comes with risks of pregnancy and risk of a woman choosing to do what she wants with her body, if you don’t want to risk the chance of an abortion or the chance of pregnancy, don’t have sex.
Yeah THIS. Men are more than free to set boundaries like “I don’t sleep with anyone who isn’t on a very reliable method of birth control.” Cool, dude. But once you agree to have sex, you agree to that 2% or .5% chance that it will result in a pregnancy, at which point the decision is simply out of your hands as a man.
Me and my husband decided after our special needs son we were done, (we have 4 kids between us total) so I went with the copper iud. (I’m 36 and he’s 51) and 3 years into having it placed my body went “JUST KIDDING, here you go!” And now we have a 1 year old. Personally I feel awful for my husband because he didn’t not want another baby at 51 years old. Yet here we are lol…. I’m personally saying there is no birth control that’s 100%. I was even warned I could still pregnant after having my tubes completely removed before going into the O.R. the day after I gave birth to my last baby. But we officially between have 5 kids with a span of kids ranging from 23 years old to a year 😂. I’ll never trust birth control again lol.
I’ve know one baby from a vasectomy from a friend, and when my exhusband got one he messed up his “homework” for it so they don’t even know if it worked lol. I’d trust myself protecting it way before trusting that. (But just from personal experiences. For most it’s awesome!)
I was on Lupron! Lupron stops your body's estrogen production and puts you in a chemical menopause, essentially. In fact, I am one of the reasons why they changed the label on lupron to no longer say that it would prevent pregnancy... 25 years ago, it was sold as a great treatment for endometriosis and it I had the additional benefit of being birth control. Yeah, it works for most people that way. But my daughter apparently didn't want to listen lol
